An interesting observation... Macedonian dynasty hard - battle of Arcadiopolis. Our allies are attacked at the start of this mission. The first legion under attack has a unit of spearmen with a fairly reasonable chances to counter. Just out of curiosity I restarted this mission 25 times. Guess, how many times the attacked was countered? Not a single time!   |

Not a single time! But skill Counter only works for back-row, and in case back row is archer it is not working at all as archers are not countered by infantry... In Your case back row are archers. |

Not a single time! But skill Counter only works for back-row, and in case back row is archer it is not working at all as archers are not countered by infantry... In Your case back row are archers. I don't know... Here Alfred's phalanx pikemen counter in a similar situation.  |

Maybe you are right after all. This legion has a cavalry unit together with archers at the back row.
