His set of skills is a bit strange... For an archer general Outburst is not good at all, for an infantry general he has two exclusively range skills. So, obviously we have to use a mixed legion to get the best of both worlds. But in campaigns it will be quite challenging to find good units for him. But, probably, Varangians will be available for hire in Eastern Roman campaigns (Macedonian dynasty and Restoration of Byzantium). Unfortunately I don't see any campaign in which we could be able to hire Teutonic swordsmen/axemen.

I think of buying justinian instead if him.Engineering is very good skill in defending which is very tough in hard mode. He could use use book of tactics.as F2p player i can give him attila's unique item to boost archery stat and increase damage. Plus admins now regenerate city, whichs is very high in him.

You can get 10 fragments from El Cid hero legend. hard mode too? Also raid is a thing now I don't think that conquistadors will be a viable option until at least lvl 8/9. Most likely our opponents will be lvl 10 and higher from now on. They just will smash our low levels elite units. |

El Cid has 3 possible paths for me. First of all, Conquistador is a must.
Archer: Teutonic Axemen (or Heavy Nordic), Genoese (or any archer with climb).
Pure Archer: Swiss (or tier 4 counter inf), Mongolian (or Woad). Plus a lvl 3 Rhinoceros.
Infantry: Varangian*2.
Each have their own pros and cons, and I'm not sure which is the best.
