Louis Gabriel Suchet, RNG plays a big role in the final levels of the arena, how many times the generals will activate crit attack, commander skill, shild of wall, ambush, guerrilla ... Without frequent activation of these things defeat is inevitable. It happened to me that the opposing Antony without high morale and assalt skill attacked three times and all three times was critical, I never saw any of my generals do that.

The whole arena mode sux. This should be a strategy game. But you can place your generals as good as possible, the so called AI messes all up by just randomly moving them anywhere in range. RNG is acceptable, but AI should at least recognize what a unit is good at and what’s a no go. Watching this for weeks the game pisses me really off for the first time.

Don't know of this is comforting, but for me it has become better after hitting a low around level 25. (win chances ~40%)
Now at lv28, either the badges start to show effects or it is possible to anticipate AI to a certain degree and most importantly, get a feeling for which battles will likely result in a victory (~80%) and which should be avoided.

I've experienced a rise in win rates too. Probably the biggest reason is, I've started to modify my unit placement for every battle. Hannibal isn't that bad if you place Mithridates, Surena, and Octavius against him.

After I've reached 300.000 points I don't care about the arena anymore. Finally. Doesn't matter win or lose

Well, I’m 27 and do the same. I check which battle has the best chance for a win and always adjust my positioning. Luckily it often ends with 3 instant victories in premier arena. But there are these days when I need 3 reloads for one cycle, so 2x 20Min waiting. With 9 battles a day it becomes quite time consuming. It just freaks me out that defeats are mostly caused because the AI acts like a noob in his first match. It could at least be coded to know same basic rules, like e.g. cav preferably attacks inf and avoids archers. I play GCR because I like strategy and tactic. If I liked dice games I would play that instead.

I understand that in Decisive battle we have no control because they last a long time and serve us for farming medals. But in Arena mode it's really stupid that we have no control because the battles are short, last 2-3 minutes and are fun, like the Tresure missions in EW7 and they are at least the most fun part for me. The most annoying part of the Arena is the extremely stupid AI.

Doesn't matter win or lose You will run out of runes to buy all badges available eventually, unless you get 3x3x3 per day But I'm also thinking of scaling back on time spent for GCR and go for 4 badges from the shop (not draws) that are sustained solely by senate missions.

Maybe like the WC4 invasions except for the fact that we don't need to do them every day until the end of time

I can purchase badges for gold and medals. I am in no hurry with ET games Eventually all necessary badges will be obtained for main team

In todays reset I started with 7 runes. From not buying the badges on the first few days and the arena rewards I had a stockpile of runes before. That stockpile decreased as I was unable to win all my matches. I am at level 28 right now. I wished I could see the enemy general stats and equipment but from what I observed, they are definitely using upgraded IAP equipment at this point. I seen enemy deployment with 5 high morale generals (these generals didn't have the inspire skill) and another where the enemy general caused the lava in their attack. This would only be possible if they were using upgraded Shield of Achilles and Gram.

AIs have upgraded items, artifacts, WoH skills and dirty buff power (yep 5 high morale generals are normal at lvl 30, 4 IAPs and Commander, lol). My 5 stacks Spartacus once deal only 50 critical damage to AI Spartacus, nice.

This way we get the best runes per arena points ratio which in turn will lower the frustration endured per victory . That's because badges is the only thing we can do to improve a team which is maxed in medals/gold/gems.
On a side note, and because I'm most interested in the resources gained per time spent ratio:) I tried normal tier for a few times while climbing the arena ladder and now at lv30 for runes farming. With only 6v6 it's always been a victory when going first and against teams without Spartacus.
