Klenau has this thing where he has war expert and nobelman so he'll get nobility and rank fast (I think, how much faster is it?). I believe grinding my generals is taking more and more time to go to the next rank or nobility (does that take exponentially more work to rank up or nobility up?). Is it worth it then to max out Klenau fast amd regroup him into another general to get a max general?

If you can manage to afford Klenau, you'd better off getting On War and the crown.

For nobility, just use Trotsky's trick for the first scenario from the French campaign. It's so easy to set up, all you need is the crown from 3-3. You can count your taps it's so easy.
For rank- get the four available rank items and then play conquests with 4 generals a rank item and then another. Conquest rounds aren't important for non-princess runs and to "beat" the game you need to do 42 (6x7). It's much quicker to play without switching items.
