So, as we all probably know by now, there will be a lot of grinding to get max level tier 6s. But, exactly how long will it take? I'm going to try to make some rough calculations to see how many days weeks months or years we'll have to wait. So, first of all, we can get 3 mercenary orders and 1 raid ticket a day. Then, from the shop, we can get about 3 more mercenary orders a day. We can also get ~80 medals a day from daily quests+ads. Assuming we get more quests later, I'll round this number up to 100 medals a day. What are these medals good for? Well, we can buy 10 tier 6s for 2400 medals for 240 medals a troop. However, if you buy at discount (I'm assuming there will be more later), it's closer to 200 medals a troop. Finally, how many mercenary orders does it take to get a tier 6? I'm assuming that most people will have the patience to reroll for 1 tier 6 per 20 mercenary orders (10 for the initial fixed and then 10 for rerolling over and over again). Then, we have fragments which is difficult to calculate but I'm going to assume 10 fragments per troop as some troops will be saved. Then 20 orders gives us 200 fragments or 1 extra tier 6. So, to recap, we have 100 medals a day, 6 mercenary orders a day and 1 raid ticket a day and 200 medals a tier 6, 20 mercenary orders for 2 tier 6s (or 10 mercenary orders per tier 6), and 2 tickets a tier 6 (for some certain tier 6s)
Now, for the calculating. First up we have troops like conquistadors that have raids. If you spend all your effort in these, you can get 1.6 troops per day. You need 279 fragments so 279/1.6=~175 days to max out conquistadors.
Now, we have troops like templars which (at least for f2ps) do not have raids. If you spend all your resources in these, you can get 1.1 troops per day. 279/1.1=~250 days to max out templars for f2p.
However, there are still many events, campaigns and other non-renewable ways to obtain more resources that should not be discounted. For example, per 10 mercenary orders you find, you can shave off ~1 day when maxxing out templars. Also, if there are 30 copies of a troop hiding somewhere, that's another month shaved off. All in all, I think that it's not completely unreasonable for a f2p player to max out templars, but it will take a lot of patience and perseverance. Also, if you have waaaaay too much time on your hands, you could theoretically buy out the shop every day for fragments but I don't think anyone other than yuanzhong is going to do that. Finally, I'm personally going to stock up on resources and do nothing for the time being, as troops like HAC might get nerfed and if so I don't want to realize that after I pour all my savings into it. Still, I highly doubt that max templars will be needed to finish the game but you never know.
