There are nations that aren't dead before You kill every single unit of this nation. It is Vikings, Huns, Pirates, Avars

I am trying to win a conquest through hegemony, if anyone could give me some tips or strategy tips on how to achieve victory that would be greatly appreciated Hegemony in conquest means you don't have any enemies and potential enemies in stage map. You need to eliminates all enemies which aren't your allies (or you can make them your allies ). Some of my experience: - There are some enemies that only be eliminated when you kill their last unit - as Andrei said before. So try to kill them quickly before they spread out the map. For some appear later stage, try to move your generals/units to fight them as quick as possible when they appear. - Economic has very important role if you want hegemony win, you can force enemies to surrender by giving them resources when you keep their capital, it save a lot of time. So focusing in upgrade your cities is the most priority. - Enemies capitals are the most priority targets, you can active surrender function after taking these. Then high lvl cities because taking them decrease the cost of surrender. About Diplomacy: - Having Justinian I is a big help. - Don't declare war when AI ask you but if a very big country want you declare war with small country, it's ok. The cost to make friend with small enemy country (or he will be eliminated soon ) is cheaper than get back 30 - 40 frienship pts of big country. - After taking half of map (you will get about 1k1 gold per turn). Don't try to conquer too much from now, it's time to make more friends and beat those who can't be your friends. Diplomacy time. - Don't forget build and upgrade workshop in city (Iron brings gold). Try to keep your income level at Peaceful or Defense to maximize your income.
