I've tried attacking north, henry dies and i dont have the units to mop up the southern city.
I've tried attacking north THEN south, edgar athelring keeps destroying my units.
I've been wasting so much wardrums, im almost out of them already.
Edgar Athelring keeps killing my units.
I'm close to getting El Cid (kinda stuck at Battle of Manzikert)

Well, these "experts" are long gone leaving behind only outdated guides. Basil is a decent general, but that is all. Alfred, Lancelot and Simeon - each of them will deal more damage than Basil on average. Besides, Alfred and Lancelot have far better survivability. |

Alfred, Lancelot and Simeon - each of them will deal more damage than Basil on average. Besides, Alfred and Lancelot have far better survivability. My Basil still has a purpose in life with a blue elephant and 2 Noble cavalry(with a horrible 8 speed, of course  ). Simeon with 3 NC just keeps dealing less damage than Basil and Alfred in this game version (look at the recent posts I made in “Swageon of Bulgaria). However Simeon still remains a good cavalry general with terrible survivability, notwithstanding his king title. He should be equipped with ”Joyeuse” rather than “Immortality” and a cuirass to complete the tank-restyling. stoic I’d need your help to make some screenshots with a “pimped” Simeon to verify this hypothesis if you want ofc. |

It is not always a question of damage. It is more a question of consistent damage. Since you have both Simeon and Basil you can test this better than me. Since Simeon with a Norman war horse has 10% more probability to charge, I assume, his overall damage over 10, 20 etc turns will be higher than that of Basil. I am sure, that Norman war horse is the best item for Simeon even after they nerfed Charging cavalry expert skill. Basil may even be a stronger hitter when fortune is on his side and he can perform a triple charge. But, definitely, Simeon has fortune on his side far more often  |

Truth is that I saw Basil can triple charge 3/10 times and 7/10 double charge. Alfred still remains at 0.5/10 times and 5/10, but things change when you put a blue dumbo instead of pikes. |

I guess, in 50 or 100 attacks it will be a very close probability. Nothing in Basil repertoire makes him a better charger than Alfred. |

How about Roland? Roland is definitely a safe bet. And his advantage is a unique weapon. It is really a serious advantage over generals who don't have personal weapons or, for some reasons, cannot equip it. |
