What are the best archery units that are easy to get. I am currently considering either Longbowmen or Genoese Shield Crossbowmen. My only archery general which I use is Justinian so I am not looking for any troop specific bonuses.

How are You going to estimate what unit is the best in case You are not looking for specific modifiers/bonuses? The very idea of "the best" is based on specific modifiers/bonuses You value the most. Without bonuses and specific skills it is only necessary to compare the stats. You can check it on Your own in the Units section. |

Best archer units are Mamluks and Mongolian Riders

Mamluk, Mongolian rider and Dragoon. 2 first are balance and skills, the last one for pure damage.

As you can see I'm still using them Every one use them, great atk type, good movement buff and easy to upgrade. |

I converted all their fragments into souls for my Templars  They are good for Saladin and other Cav/Archer hybrids, or folks with Forced March, other wise they are either too slow or just not as useful. Personally, I like them all around. One on Attila makes an excellent shield for Ravenna and Woad. |

Only 3 day's. Conquistadors 1 level better then Ravenna elite crossbowmens 7 level. |

(woad + ravenna combo) He has the item which boosts garrison spearman but I don't really like garrison spearmen... |
