I have a bunch of useless units such as Camel Archer, Scottish Pikeman, Elephant Archer (Bad IMO because they removed the dodge chance), and Legion Spearman (useless because I don't have Belisarius Spear) which I know I will never use and I will never purchase the generals which have these unit bonuses so I was wondering whether I should just change all of these units into souls so I can upgrade my Templars. I was also considering using the souls to upgrade Ravenna + Woad but I'm not sure which is a better investment (since I mainly use Templars and deploy Richard for all campaigns.

Save and try. See also at honor of soldiers points, maybe upgrade your unused soldiers unit will be better then exchange for templars.

You should exchange fragments of units which are really hard to find (only recruitment, stage, proof as example), don't exchange fragment that you can get from gold shop. Upgrading units is a long road to go, we can't hurry here even with pay players. Ravenna and Woad are very very easy to find. I have lvl 14 Ravenna without much effort to find its fragment (unfortunately I exchange all Woad fragments before because I'm hurry in upgrading my Templars and I'm a bit regret now ^^!) And upgrading units gives you best benefit at lvl 6 and 12, the others lvl doesn't give much change. So just keep and wait until you collect enough materials.

Since you can get them from the gold shop you should exchange them because they are easy to get and only cost gold right? Also ok thank you, I wasn't sure which levels were the most important for upgrades! In addition, what would be the easiest way to get Narse's special item "Charger" from Conquest? What are the easiest nations should I play (I don't have any auto-clicker programs and I can't get any so I'm looking for an auto conquest with the AI), what generals do I need, etc.

I'm not using much auto click to farm gold now, I prefer auto conquest (I max the conquest proof but maybe ET will extend it, who know ) . You can do conquest Western Roman Empire (Barbarian Invasion). You can do all quests in just 1st turn then Deploy as many generals with their units as possible with the bonus. Go 2nd turn and continue deploying generals. For Administrator position, 1st turn use your highest Admin pts. From turn 2 use the one has "Strategist" skill, never use Justinian from turn 2 because you can't do auto conquest with him. Start auto conquest at turn 2 and it takes you about 15 mins - 30 mins depend on AI and quality of your generals. Setting for auto: Construction - no. Others all yes Reject Peaceful.

yuanzhong, what's happening with such auto conquest when You reach normal win before hegemony? Do You need to click continue button manually?

It's my opinion.

yuanzhong , what's happening with such auto conquest when You reach normal win before hegemony? Do You need to click continue button manually? Oh, I forgot. I use simple autoclick, not as complicated one as in campaign, simple autoclick is easier to find and use than recorded auto click. . Thanks for notice.

Yeah you can do it. (I do it at the start of the game. To unlock some units) you're not going to use those troops anyway.
