What level would panzer tech need to be at for a super tank to beat a xeno destroyer? And same for navy tech and a battleship? This is assuming no general, the xeno destroyer is level 1, and both start at full health, and nothing interferes in the fight. And, which unit is best for single combat against an alien unit, ignoring cost and facilities required?

Rocket artillery is the best against aliens as the aliens are unable to retaliate against rocket artilleries, but the latter effect does apply to you. Field artillery is a good option but sacrificing mobility, slight damage output, and some retaliation for health.

I can't answer the super tank and battleship part (as they are less cost-efficient), but I'll tell you that aliens do not have damage bonus against artilleries. In a 1v1, field artillery is better due to its ability to retaliate, but rocket artillery becomes exponentially more powerful the more it has in numbers.

Rocket artillery for offense, field artillery for defense. Battalion artillery is more cost-efficient if the enemy are in close range. Super tank can be a viable option if you are behind on artillery tech. Battleships are the best in the sea and against towers.
