At the time of writing I am nearing my exams and am on a laptop, with most of my gameplay being in ew 7 so I won't be able to post the screenshots
anyways, ew 7 for me is pretty good with only the out of no where stuff(Huns coming from the east being the visigoths, vikings coming from north east when fully conquered britain scotland and the welsh not the Irish as those guys did help with the viking so no need to invade them.)
So I am on the border crisis having these gens
Belisarius Aetius, Stilicho, Adil I, Dihya, Theodora, Hermeric, Lupicinus, Antonina, Athelfrith and John the Armenian
So which gen should I get next I got 2878 medals(I used some for getting the unit recruitment, which I think is bad)

Alfred (Simeon as alternative) for cavalry
Cnut (Harald Hardrada as alternative) for infantry
use Your Aetius (Lancelot is also good alternative) as archer general to go with Woad raider + Ravenna crossbowman combo. Add some fast unit (to fully utilise Rapid march skill) like Camel riders for example.

Me who uses Aetius as a infantry main like Belisarius, tho fine I will reset the points
also haven't unlocked them at border crisis so please tell the gens to use that I can get

Strictly a melee cav general. Simeon is pretty nice, the 2nd best Charge cav general after Alfred. Charges often. Justinian is a good consul/kinda an archer, but now's not the time for consuls. Narses is a fast archer general/Garrison Spearman leader. Lancelot is a fast archer/cavalry general. IV only has the Battle of Anatolia to worry about, I think you can get to V for Alfred sooner or later. |

Alfred, Cnut, and El Cid all must have generals. Belisarius and Narses with bond too. Justinian and Theodore with bond also. Aetius. Cnut's bond. Maybe even Roland. And last Nur al Din. For now stage of the game. Maybe Simeon 1 and Constantine for cavalry. Harold and Basil maybe too if you need. PS. Why ET so discriminate Constantine? I don't understand. He is one of the best generals and rulers in history.  |

Inf. Expert is good, but is already featured in Aetius, Narses, and Simeon. Melee Cav. Expert is Roland's job. He is simply outshined by his peers, particularly Simeon, who got the better cav, and Def. Inf. Expert too. I would love to see his Swamp Commander swapped, but it may be unlikely (closest thing we have to Milvian Bridge). Rank, title, and active skill are the saving graces. |

Aim for: Janissary (Khalid can use it), Varangian, Viking Raiders, Garrison Spearmen (Narses), War Axe (for Roland right now, Hussar isn't F2P yet), Noble Cavalry, Templar, Cataphracts (for Charge rate but Noble can be a replacement, optional), Woad, Ravenna, Conquistadors, and Genoa (I think). And of course, and F2P special units I didn't cover. I'm not the best person to cover the last one. |
