I noticed that all of the free generals tend to specialize on infantry and ranged units, John is the only one on cav, and he doesn't perform great, tho he isn't bad as well. The problem is I have so much infantry and ranged generals that I upgrade their cavalry points just to make it up for the cav units. I currently have 3700 medals, which cav general should I grind for?

Alfred is good one for a now because he is cheap to recruit and his unique equipment you can get it quite early or something that everyone recommend Simeon II with charge cavalry skill. the Tips is now Charge cavalry is Very OP eventhough they are quite fragile in combat.

1. Alfred (Can be both, but primarily charge b/c noble cav) 2. Roland (Melee) 3. Simeon (Charge) 4. Khalid (Melee) 5. Lancelot (Both)
That's my ranking.

okay thanks, also who are also the best generals on infantry and range so I can have someone to grind for? I would prioritize getting Cnut, Alfred, and El Cid first because these are the best generals for their respective roles... Once you get Cnut and El Cid you basically have the 2 best F2P infantry and ranged generals in the game. Narses is a very good hybrid general who works well with Belasarius (you should get him after Cnut, Alfred, and El Cid). With the changes to Basil he is a very strong infantry general, but only if you have Varangian guard. Otherwise I think he is not as useful in campaign because his unique item doesn't give damage reduction (which is really important for infantry to survive because they are always on the front lines).

Pepin the Short 4. Nur Din 5. Philip II I would swap Basil and Cnut, Heraclius should be instead Guiscard, and there is no way that Pepin is better than. Philip or Nuradin.

Philip II I would swap Basil and Cnut, Heraclius should be instead Guiscard, and there is no way that Pepin is better than. Philip or Nuradin. Why? Basil is still a respectable King, deals more damage, and actually has a good special unit in the Varangians. I dunno about Guiscard... I think that 5 really should beling to Aetius. Yeah, Pepin may not beat Nur Din, but he eats Phil for breakfast.

Also, can easily deal up to 1000-1400 damage on regular attack. Godly against archer gens like Atilla and Saladin 2.Harald and Basil II: Both deal high damage probaly higher than Cnut, but not nearly tanks as much as Cnut 3. Narses: Can have high infantry points due to unique weapon, but lacking in specialization in infantry 4.Heraclius: Never used him, but seems like a solid infantry gen to me.

okay thanks, also who are also the best generals on infantry and range so I can have someone to grind for? Cnut is really good, especially with composure. Also Justinian is pretty good as an archery general, and he is probably the best consul as it is very easy to get a diplomatic victory is conquest with him as a consul. I would also recommend El Cid and Basil II.
