Do the upgrades I purchase in Campaign mode affect my conquest mode? If so do I have to make a new conquest for it to function? I've always pondered and tested this, but failed to view the results. Thanks mate.

No, in fact the upgrades only impact the one campaign (Imperial, Coalition, HRE, etc) you're in
