MY IMPRESSION ON CAVALRY GENERALS
NOTE:
1. This is only based on their specialized unit and specialized skills. I assumed they have maximum values in stars, rank, and nobility.
2. I will consider items but not for prices.
3. I will include missing generals. Images are from "Friedrich Paulus".
4. I will update this thread everyday. I will also do another impression on infantry, artillery, and navy.
5. This thread is open to everyone's opinions. If you have any corrections, suggestions, and questions, I would love to read and discuss about it.
Thank You!
TOP 1: GRANDEUR = 100.00%
Codename: "THE ASSASSIN"
She is the BEST CAVALRY GENERAL (and the BEST GENERAL OF EUROPEAN WAR 4). The combination of her skills are the definition of "perfection".
Principally, Strike + Surprise are standard cavalry skills in dealing high damage. Combine it with Assault Art, she will have chance to deal maximum damage. Worth to mention, she is not affected by flanking and shortage because of Leadership. As far as I'm concerned, she is the only general that utilizes ALL 4 SKILL SLOTS in combat. From this motion, we can agree that she is indeed "the assassin".
"Play-Conquest-to-Get" General. You must play conquest and reach 550 years in Asia. Playing as United States in America 1775 will give you 50% chance to get this general.
She is the second hardest free general to get (first is Victoria ).
My Experience: Whenever I put her in Armored Car, she can deal around 100+ damage. When I was doing a conquest, she dealt 100+ damage 5 times in 1 turn. How? I thought it was impossible for Assault Art to get triggered multiple times consecutively. She proved me wrong and triggered it 5 times, killing 4 enemies surrounding her and 1 enemy in other place. Leadership made her possible to deal high damage even if surrounded. Strike and Surprise made her possible to deal high damage even if enemies have cavalry evasion.

"Pay-to-Get" Generals.
TOP 3: GIFTED = 98.50%
Codename: "THE PRINCES OF CAVALRY"
They are the definition of standard cavalry generals.
Strike deprives 20% or higher cavalry evasion. This means their damage will not decrease when attacking an enemy on a terrain or city.
Meanwhile, Surprise increases their max base damage by 1. This means if light cavalry has 8 max base damage (multiply by 5 for single formation will have 40 max output damage) and you assigned them in this unit, then it will have 9 max base damage (multiply by 5 for single formation will have 45 max output damage). However, units in this game deals damage between minimum and maximum. You can only deal max output damage with Assault Art.
Berthier and Golitsyn are "Play-to-Get" Generals while Lasalle is "Pay-to-Get" General.
TOP 4: GREAT = 97.50% to 97.00%
[Image of Nansouty and Junot (If you have images of these generals, please send in this thread. Thank You!)]
TOP 5: GOOD = 95.00% to 93.75%
TOP 6: GENERAL = 93.00%
[Image of Mortier, Sebastiani, Johann, Macdonald, Perignon, Platov, and Gouvion (If you have images of these generals, please send in this thread. Thank You!)]
All of them have Surprise only as cavalry skill. Surprise is replaceable with +2 attack item. This skill is always used ever time you attack. But, the effect is so little you cannot see it visibly. Would you rather have a skill that can be used every time and deals extra +2 attack or a skill that can only be triggered 3 times in 50 rounds and deals maximum damage?
"Play-to-Get" Generals.

Codename: "THE KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR"
They both have the same standard cavalry skills. Also, they both have Defense Art, chance to survive longer, acts as their "shining armor".
If we will talk about consistency, they only offer Strike + Surprise. Nevertheless, having Defense Art is at least a little better than not having it. There may be a chance that you can save them from getting killed if they triggered Defense Art while they have 10 health left.

Codename: "THE SUCCESSOR OF THE ASSASSIN"
He was Top 4 before. The reason why I put him in Top 2 is because of Assault Art. He is the last cavalry general (first is Lan) that have chance to deal high maximum damage to enemies even if they have 20% cavalry evasion that decreases cavalry damage.
Strike + Assault Art is equals to Strike + Surprise + Defense Art but greater than Strike + Surprise. Defense Art is replaceable with healing items. Surprise is replaceable with +2 attack items.

Grade: 97.50% Sulkowski and Cotton
Codename: "THE KILLERS AND DESTROYERS"
Having Strike with Spy will make your general to be versatile. They can attack mobilized enemies with cavalry evasion and at the same time can deal high damage to forts with also cavalry evasion.
Spy is kinda unnecessary in campaign? But in conquest, it depends. If you want to play quick, its up to you if you will gonna use it. But if you want to play longer (like me that can play up to 300 rounds), it is absolutely important. Enemies love to spam forts starting in round 50. Having this skill in guard cavalry will help you destroy a fort with 300 health in just 3 rounds.
Sulkowski is "Play-to-Get" General. Cotton is "Pay-to-Get" General

Codename: "THE KILLERS"
They are the examples of why "Strike is better than Surprise".
If a general in light cavalry have Strike only and 40 max output damage (8 x 5) while attacking an enemy in terrain with 20% cavalry evasion, it will still deal 40.
If it have Surprise only, its max output damage will be 45 ((8+1) x 5). But if it is attacking an enemy in terrain with 20% cavalry evasion, it will only deal 36 (40 x (100%-20%)). The higher the percent of cavalry evasion, the lower the output damage of cavalry.
Sakurako is "Play-Conquest-to-Get" General. You must play conquest and reach 350 years in Asia. Playing as Holy Roman Empire in Europe 1798 will give you 50% chance to get this general.
Nansouty and Junot are "Play-to-Get" Generals. Archduke is "Pay-to-Get" General.

TOP 5: GOOD = 95.00% to 93.75%
Grade: 95.00% Charles
Surprise + Siege Master seems good right? It's like Surprise + Strike but worse. Strike is applicable to enemy evasion in terrains or cities. But Siege Master only applies to cities. Nevertheless, having Siege Master is at least better than not having it. His damage will not get reduced from cavalry evasion in a city, making him a good city invader.
Grade: 94.75% Massena
Surprise + Leadership also seems good. A cavalry general that is immune from getting flanked and shortage is unstoppable. He is the last cavalry general to have Leadership (first is Lan). However, he may deal low damage because of not having Strike or Siege Master.
Grade: 94.50% Murat
Surprise + Assault Art is a good combination against enemy soldiers. On the other hand, Surprise + Assault Art + Spy is a great combination against enemy forts. However, relying on Assault Art is not beneficial since it is not consistent. It may only get triggered 3 times in 50 rounds especially if you mostly use the general. So basically he only have Surprise + Spy as main skills.

Grade: 94.00% Davout
He is like Murat but without Spy. He can only have a good fight against enemy soldiers and not enemy forts. The true power of Surprise can only be seen if Assault Art is triggered. Surprise increases +1 max base damage. Assault Art gives chance to deal maximum damage. Surprise + Assault Art will guarantee that the general will deal the maximum damage it can do.
Grade: 93.90% Raevsky
Surprise + Defense Art is almost the same as Surprise + Assault Art. I prefer to have Assault Art instead of Defense Art with the reason that I want my enemies to be killed instantly. Being offensive will help you to have 5 stars in campaigns and lesser rounds (more years) in conquests.
Grade: 93.75% Savary
He is like Murat but without Assault Art. Spy is helpful in short conquests but not in most campaigns. Fireproof is only helpful for navy since you cannot avoid fire on ships. You can avoid fire on land, hence it is useless in there.
Raevsky and Savary are "Play-to-Get" Generals. Davout is "Pay-to-Get" General.
