I must be getting old, but when I was first in this board, RPs were a den of stupidity and fun between like three or four people. Anyone wanna bring that back for another try?

I must be getting old, but when I was first in this board, RPs were a den of stupidity and fun between like three or four people. Anyone wanna bring that back for another try? I think it's an interesting idea, and worth a try. As long as it doesn't exceed certain limits, a more flexible RP like that is fine with me. Thus, as Kliment Jefremovitš Vorošilov said while standard RPs continue, this type of RPs could also attract more members who could be interested in this type of RP. So, I think it's at least worth a try in my opinion, let's see how it goes.

The problem with Fun RPs was that they had too many players and thus it was easy to get lost.

I feel uh...embarrassed when I read them . You cannot blame me! It was the first time I was in an online forum! Another try? Maybe yes. But next time, come up with a better name for your Belarussian museum. Seriously? bellybutton?

But that's just how it's supposed to be. Make it so ridiculous and over the top that if we ever reread it, we would be astounded at how bad it was.

The problem with Fun RPs was that they had too many players and thus it was easy to get lost. Don't worry about that. Too many players won't a problem Yeah, unfortunately there hasn't been much regular activity on the board for a long while. By the way, speaking of inactivity, which has become more prominent for a long while, I personally think: From the 1848 RP to the end of the Seven Years' War RP, there was a fairly regular activity, with ups and downs in between, and we also experienced the 1942 RP, one of the most successful RPs of all time, both in terms of page count and participation. But since the Seven Years' War RP has ended, the activity has started to decline, and since we began this year, so approximately - 7 months - there has been no regular activity. In other words, every RP started becomes inactive after a while due to the limited number of players. I don't think there's anything wrong with the system, as the 1942 RP and the Seven Years' War RP, for example, were very popular. I think the problem is that, it requires a large number of players to make a large sized RP like them, but at the same time it was the large number of players that made big RPs of that size possible, because otherwise the RP will stall due to inactivity, like it has done so far since the beginning of this year. So this is like a paradox. The generation that made those RPs possible isn't very active on the forum anymore, but that's natural and normal, after all, we're all human and we have private lives and school etc. outside of the internet, and sometimes we need a break. So, as for how to overcome the inactivity of RPs, I think it also depends on external factors. Of course, activity on the board will increase again soon, what that's up to us is that not to lose hope and keep going. Also, we can try new things: as Gerd von Rundstedt suggested we can make a more flexible RP - and as I said before, I'd like to try it-, also, we can make a new Fun RP - for example, 1848 RP also brought a new RP players generation - or instead of focusing on a large scale war (for example WWII), we could make an RP that only focuses on one front of it (for example, the Eastern Front) etc., and so forth. The important thing is to try new ways, learn from the past and keep trying.
