Hey - I’m sick of being stuck on levels with almost maxed everything. I’ve decided to get an IAP General.
- I’m thinking Su Dingfang or Richard I. What is the general consensus on best IAP?
*Maybe Genghis but I don’t exactly understand if he is good and don’t see how Calvary perks and range perks work together.

if the intent is do deal more damage bc you get stuck i would say richard. but imo buying a single gen wouldnt do much of anything honestly. they are op, but its not like you steamrole every level bc you have one iap slightly better than a f2p. unit levels rather than generals make it easy. if you are stuck in campaigns i would actually recommend saladins privelege as far better, adding a second spawn gen is huge... if truly your only reason for buying an iap is bc you are stuck. but actually mamluks are less desirable nowadays with imperial bow archers added to the mix. personal opinion: instead of considering the gens too much look what unit might be most beneficial and whose personal hero legend you would get most excited about.

Yep, there isn't such a thing as a "general consensus" on best generals - IAP or f2p. And if you buy a general you look at his privileges as close as at his fighting abilities.
I think that Genghis Khan has the best active skill in the game.
Charlemagne - the best privileges in the game.
And Richard unlocks access to the best cavalry unit in the game.
Saladin is a safe investment with different useful bonuses, decent firepower and (still) one of the best units in the game.
Yet, you have to plan your overall strategy differently in each case if you have only one of them.
For example, if you have Khan you have to deploy generals with Calmness to decrease a cooldown of his active skill. If you have Charlemagne - you have better chances to unlock Subutai's weapon and get a general with equal power to Genghis Khan. If you have Richard your main strategy has to be built around heavy cavalry charges. If you have Saladin - then it is almost a "must" to build your team around mounted archers.

Some IAP generals are several times stronger than any non-IAP general. Genghis Khan can solo kill several generals without getting damage at all and Su Dingfang can do the same with getting little damage. You don't even need strong units, gems or war gear. Check my video of today's battle: sendvid.com/rp38x0stSee how many hits can Dingfang survive killing 2 strong enemies under 2 turrets. And Khan solo killed almost all other enemies. Opponent is quite strong as well, 125k power. Here is my Dingfang legion (can be more stronger):

I think the best combo for IAP is Richard+Gengis. You get 110 medals daily (220 with Bonus privilege), everything can be bought using medals now, even silver coins and gems. But the thing better than 110 medals daily, is their combat ability, Richard has the Active skill that no good-enough-general has. Gengis’ active skill is really OP. And their stats, passive skills… also very good. The better thing than their combat ability, are their bonds, with bonus for Charging Cav and Melee Cav, everything seems easy enough to crush

Yes, he has a solid melee cavalry, but there's a bunch of other (even F2P friendly) solid options for melee cavalry, so you don't lose out much.
Richard for sure is the top pick. But Saladin IMO takes the second spot. Saladin is so cheap, offers so many privileges (3, compared to the usual 1), all very useful, plus he is a top general, and comes with the strongest horse archer. He is a must also if you want to reach the 750 and 1000 trophies reward, or even if you want to have an easier time reaching whichever target you set up as you can't play every day, doubling trophy gains is no joke.
Charlemagne is really good if you bought the proof of honor. Otto is decent, with a nice bonus pack ET added upon adding German as language to the game that you can only claim if you bought him. Matilda has a nice privilege, but its a shame her high price and relatively weak troop. Su Dingfang is solid too, but not making it to the top
My ranking:
When considering their price: Tier S: Richard & Saladin Tier A: Charlemagne (if you bought proof of honor),
Tier B: Charlemagne (if you didnt buy proof of honor), Otto
Tier C: Matilda, Genghis, Su Dingfang Tier D: Attila Tier E: Olga, Arthur
Without caring about the price: Tier S: Richard Tier A: Saladin, Charlemagne (if you bought proof of honor)
Tier B: Charlemagne (if you didnt buy proof of honor), Otto, Genghis, Su Dingfang, Matilda
Tier C: Attila
Tier D: Olga, Arthur

From battle perspective:
Richard is B: he dies from 1 charge and gets a lot of damage from counter attacks.
Genghis Khan is S: he can kill 3 generals per turn, no matter what generals they are and without getting damage.
Arthur, Charlemagne and Su Dingfang are A: huge defence and attack, never die and kill everyone quite fast.
Olga and Matilda are better than Richard end-game.
Saladin is bad.

Well, I have Richard only, and considering buying one of those IAPs if he greatly increase my gaming experience. I’m busy with my study now and don’t have enough time even for Expedition, just collect daily resources and watch apps, fight 3 territory battles… so I think it’s better to get Gengis bcoz for long run, medals can buy anything. But now they buff Saladin, giving more silver coin (1 silvercoin = 10 medals), it’s a hard choice, and I don’t have time 😅, just wait for new IAPs

Genghis Khan is kind of a double edged sword imo. On the one hand, Subutai can do his job pretty well. On the other hand, you have Batu Khan for free (solid skills, bad active).

Yeah, pretty sure Subutai with his weapon has an equally powerful active skill as Genghis Khan. But that means that both of them may be extremely efficient together. I've seen that fully upgraded Subutai with 200 capability points, unique weapon and Mongolian Raiders can deal more than 1000 damage to my generals with his active. My guess, Khan can do the same. So, theoretically, together it is 6000 damage every turn. Oh, yeah, and they will attack afterwards That's huge. Even without Calmness to support it.

It depends on the generals' skills, capabilities and privileges. Richard can one shot nearly every unit. 60 medals per day helps a bit too. Con: Templars are Glass Cannons Saladin is also a good IAP, with +4 territory points per win. The 10 eagle coins doesn't help much, but his +1 general spot (merc spot) is very useful for campaign. Add Charlemagne and you will have +2 spots in campaign. Con: Timur is way better Su is the best anti-cav general (maybe Robert the Bruce at 2nd place once Hundred Years War comes out). But when enemy cav don't charge, no crit counterattack. Con: Can be defeated by El Cid, Sala and Timur. His privileges are nice tho. Genghis, he is quite questionable as Cav Archer or Pure Cavalry. The BEST active skill in the game. 60 medals helps too (+ Richard 120 medals per day and when x2 privilege, 240 medals) Cons: Units are quite questionable to put on (mamluk/kheshig-templar) and some f2p generals are better (Nevsky, Alfred). Charlemagne. Good for grinding merit. His Hospitallers are good but you can freely unlock them after Crusades. Good with Hospitaller-Templar build. His +1 general spot is also crucial + Saladin. Con: Idk maybe tied with Roland as best melee cav gen (this is just my own opinion don't criticize me )
