So I’ve been playing for a week now and I am at the British and Ottoman campaigns, with Massena Murat and Mahmud along with the 4 free generals. I have 700 medals and I’m wondering where to spend them now. Should I spend them on my generals’ rank, skills, or items, or should I save up for another general(and if so who.)

I'd buy the two ambulances from the shop (or at least one for Murat), and then I'd save for Dabrowski. |

If I recally correct, minimally, rank should be Maj Gen for the two equipment slots. That's all you need until Crimean War.

So I got Dabrowski and now I have 600 medals. I’m wondering what general I should buy next. I’m stuck on the 4th mission for Prussian campaign and first mission for South American campaign, so maybe I need another good artillery general, since Jordan isn’t good enough anymore. Or maybe I should get a naval general (save up for Nelson) since I’m stuck on Land Portugal in the Spanish War challenges. Appreciate the help.

If you want another arty, get Alexander or John. Or even Scharnhorst. Karl is still an option. I would get Karl and then John/Alex/Scharnhorst. Nelson does not move up in priority until you get to Crimea. |

I personally recommend spending either on a solid general that can be the missing link for a sophisticated roster/deck of generals.
If I understand correctly, you currently have:
Massena (inf)
Murat (cav)
Mahmud (art
4 free generals
& 700 medals to spend
Now, you can complete(aura) Massena by getting him Emperor Karl and creating deady fronts with two aura generals and even a line infantry being able to hold (along with fortifications). Great for pushing and keeping artillery 1 field away.
Complete Murat with Dąbrowski (aura) and have solid flanking and reach manouverability.
Or get another art general in hopes of quickly smashing through forts cities, and ships, but not that effective against units. So very defensive. (Either way, napoleon is best art in the game but is an IAP)
If not general, then consider getting field hospital items like tents and carts, slap at least one on each general you place, that'll keep them alive with smart decisions and knowing when to pull back or strike the weaker units for exp.
Nelson is Hella expensive but at the end, he is your fleet. I first got hood at discount and sold him for medals for Nelson. Next maybe Treville. And Navy is most of British campaign too, so might be handy for quick 3 star victories.
My rooster is :
Inf: Karl, Massena, (other: Lannes)
Cav: Blücher, Dąbrowski (other: Dasaix)
Art: Napoleon, Mahmud II
Navy: Nelson
Blücher, Karl, and Napoleon are always placed on the most exp units,
BUT when I can wait to purchase better unit this is ideal for my style of gameplay:
Blücher - heavy cav, musket cav, armored car
Karl: Only Grenadiers, Old Guard, (unless no other choice) maxim gun is more of a holding the line so I put Massena on it.
Napoleon: Rocket artillery (if I can wait to buy it a couple rounds, i slap Mahmud on the cannons, even Tsar)
Nelson: If I only have one boat on start, then I place him depending on the urgency.
If you need more advice or would like to know my full roster, along with what builds are interesting, happy to share it.

I have a question regarding upgrading skills: which ones should I upgrade and what is the priority. 1. Aura 2. Flat damage/Surprise Attack 3. Terrain 4. Intercept/Tunnel/Edge tbh not qualified to tell you this. I only maxed out Aura on all my Aura generals and did no further skill upgrading, in favor of stronger items. On the plus side, it means my Murat has 3 grid aura. |

I recommend bolstering: aura skills first Terrain bonus second Addition attack bonus third Anything before crit Critical damage chance last (better to have steady output rather than an occasional bonus that you can't control) Also, I recommend giving every general at least one regeneration item and a unit/gen boost item. I gave Massena the infantry master medal (he is my secondary) and Karl the jungle figtining medal as he is my hard hitter in jungles along with Massena giving him the aura bonus even at 3 tiles away. Give a heads up what you do! 🙂 |
