Ok. So you are playing probably one of the worst countries to play as. Germany starts pushing you with mainstein immediately. I’d say its one of the hardest challenge for 1939 (other than Yugoslavia). However, with a few artillery generals, an air general and 2 tank generals (could be done with even less, but would take longer), you could claim victory
General Requirements:
Gornov
Sassotini
Gudurian
2nd arty gen of your choice (EC, kornov. Even badagolio could be a viable option)
Nice additions:
Patton
3rd arty gen (could be as said above personally i used my EC with lvl 4 plain, lvl 3 explo, and 3 star arty to crack open cities)
Tech requirements
Level 6 or above arty, infantry, tank and air (the higher the better)
So how do we do it?
Early game:
For this stage, Mainstein will garuntee to rush you. Build field artillery, place gornov first then place your 2nd artillery general. With the medium tank spawned on your oil field, put gudurian. Make sure to utilise as much terrain bonuses as you can. Once you kill off mainstein, if more generals are coming for you (such as gudurian or Rommel) then hold your ground and keep dealing damage to artillery. Build anti air gun/artillery to reduce air damage done by the Germans. Once all the dangerous generals get killed, proceed to take over cologne and berlin. This would be a good time to put on the remaining generals including sassotini (which sassotini should be placed on motorised infantry). Once you capture berlin, use sassotini wisely to take out generals from afar and capture cities.
Mid game:
Build up motorised infantry and armoured cars as well as field artillery to sludge through germany. Use air wisely to weaken German defences. Once Gemany has taken over, and most german lands liberated, put pressure on Italy and the balkans by moving up artillery. Also keep Spain in check and move sassotini to cologne to do damage to any Spanish in french territory and keep bombing to weaken the Italians. Hopefully you steal some lower french cities such as Lyon, otherwise take switzland and use that to stage bombings to Italy. Also bomb and take out Spain. Move into the African front using bombers to conquer Africa.
End game:
Move your tanks and sassotini on to turkey. Use air power to liberate them and Iran. Start spamming paratroopers to start rushing into japan. Make sure sassotini is alive as he will obliterate the japanese with air once he gets a foothold in china. After that use air to get cities and kill off japan. Done. Victory!
