Does anyone know for sure when Alex gets his Phalanx ability back? I've a feeling it's 6 but it's been a long time since I've used him before this game.

I'm quite impressed with how long 2* Alex has stayed useful, I'm into the early Discovery campaigns and at level 55 and I'm only just starting to think about upgrading him.
Campaign wise he's still effective but for auto battles and Paris he's starting to die a bit too easily.

He is still incredibly useful for cracking buildings, and at 7 stars with his saddle he'll get a 100% chance to attack again (I think that's how it works) after annihilating an enemy. He's just super solid, so why aren't you upgrading him? Cost? He'll certainly recoup it in an infantry centric lineup. And goodness knows he'll be a better city cracker in Discovery than Medieval. It does look like you are running a budget team right now (with the exception of Caesar), so maybe that's why you aren't upgrading him, but even then, Alex is free! Upgrading him to Discovery is only like a thousand medals, for one of the most powerful gens in the game. Are you saving for Nobby first? Which one are you going to get this go-around - Peter or Petain? What is your strategy when it comes to generals?

No, Alexander's saddle gives him +50% against infantry. The chance to attack again is the same as the other inf generals (minus Petain and Joan who don't have it)

I thought it gave him an extra 50% chance to attack again.

I figured his fort cracking was more useful than Shield and vaguely remember being disappointed when he lost it in my first game (although it was long long ago ) so decided to upgrade him last in Empire, then it just became a thing to see how long I could leave it. I haven't actually settled on a first VIII team yet, but I'm pretty sure the infantry component will be Alex, Caesar, Barb & probably Petain. Although there's a possibility I give up on Petain and get another archer instead. Or keep Saladin We shall see!

I only hope that you use him. He is an excellent damage dealer and stronger in attack than even Ceaser. With the gungnir. He will become the strongest hero. So I really want to see that happen
