I endorse Gerdy's views on Samurai and Patriot. Here's why:
1. The actual use of these SFs Only a fool would use an SF like Samurai from the get-go, or just in any circumstance. These SFs are for when you are in a pickle with morale, and need to fight for your general's survival. A general like Rundstedt is the main use of these SFs.
2. Why these SFs are good The morale negation ability is awesome situationally, and really helps when, say, Rundstedt is surrounded.
3. A rebuttal of opposing arguments
- Samurai as a skill Samurai as a skill is completely irrelevant to this debate. If a gen has that skill, cool, but this SF is for use of a different general.
- Sucky stats This is completely irrelevant to their use as something to quickly get a general out of a pickle. This SF is not meant to survive very long or dropkick enemy generals, just as a quick boost to save a general. Plus, it's not like the stats are worse than transports.
- Bad % Eh, it's not like you would use Patriot over Grenadier when fighting E-100 Rommel.
I perceive all of the above to be non-arguments, or at least ignorant ones that contradict how these SFs should be used.

These views were ones I held already. Helpful in a pinch and Samurai damage is pretty solid.
