So Easytech has been pumping out quite a few new units, their most recent one being the Knights of the Garter. Despite being only gold, their legion ability seems to be really good and also pretty useless at the same time. It's nice to have your legion have +10% attack per legion destroyed, but at the same time, the likelihood you'll be able to move on to another legion in the same round is highly unlikely. Currently my order in terms of melee cavalry priority is Black Armored Guards, Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, and Teutonic Knights. Do you think one of these could be replaced by KotG?

No since the boost is both much lower and shakier than the sepulchre boost. I only put KotG on priority because i was doing Hundred Years War Hard and want to suffer a little less. But still upgrade if you want some proof of honor soldier. Btw black armored guards are less reliable than jet black since their detour rate is the lowest amongst all T6 melee cavalry at 60% vs. everyone else's 70% (talking about level 0 stats). I personally would slide sepulchre higher than black armored guards on a priority list but black armored guards are still pretty high up as I want to utilize Gao's weapon.

Agreed that KotG do not seem very appealing. I was thinking it would actually be a good addition for rob the bruce, since he can keep attacking every time he kills a legion but his cav skills are too weak unfortunately. So at best it would be a 10% atk bonus (and once in a blue moon 20%), which can be achieved more consistently with gems or weapons…
I am trying to see if Black Armored guards with Kinghts of Sepulchre can work. On paper it looks quite good, since you get that extra 2 mobility points after atk with detour and sepulchre increase damage (by how much though?) when mobility points are low.
Remember Black Armor effect is a legion skill, so it will apply for teutonic knights or sepulchre too in the same legion, and they have higher detour probability.

One of the main complaints I hear about the Templar Sergeant is that it has low detour for melee cavalry. Same goes for Black Armored Guards. So, using that information, is it possible I can actually utilize my Templar Sergeants? I admit it, it's a bit of a stretch. Out of the Black Armored Guards, Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, Teutonic Knights, and Knights Hospitaller, can any of these be replaced? (This isn't taking cost into account. Ex: Templar Sergeants cost 30 better-used-elsewhere Templar enlistments and 100 mercenary orders.)
Going back to my first post, could Knights Hospitaller be replaced by KotG?

Good question. Depends how you set up your gens and also levels of your units. one argument could be made for black armoured + kotg + sepulchre. Interesting to consider for an aggressive melee cav gen. The black armoured guard gets you that extra 2 mobility for a last hit, while sepulchre increases damage as mobility goes down, and kotg would add extra damage for every additional hit, so the last hit (2nd or third) could be a big one… provided you still have good health left. For my tanky melle cav gens I like to keep an hospitaller, with a big tent, makes it nice and tanky. But for the aggressive melee cav gens, like gao xianzhi, that could be interesting. Could also add the mobility gem to add more strikes (would need to count if that creates an extra atk or not). In any case for me I still need to upgrade sepulchre and teutons so kotg will have to wait… seems still very niche compared to the others that I can use on more gens.
edit: sorry I was thinking kotg gets you extra 10% after each strike, but reading the skill again it is only when you kill a whole legion. Still think it is too situational. It would be a headache to position the gen at the right place and the right time to benefit from the 10% consistently. So kotg still a pass from my point of view. Unless someone can convince me of a good use for them. Prefer to keep using teutons that provide a nice consistent 5% def bonus.

I have a few questions about those units you mentioned. Do hospitaller, teutonic etc. bonuses stack? So If I have three legions in a row, does the middle one get +10% or still only +5% health, if the legions in both ends have one hospitaller in them? (and same with teutons, templars, etc.)
And what does the black armored guards "round-about attack" mean? Does it only activated when detour activates, or do you literally have to go around the enemy before attacking, or what?
And now that we are at it... what does the indestructible ("never surrender") skill do? I have seen an explanation to it somewhere, but forgot it...

I'm pretty sure each unit in the legion gets 5% more of whatever it is. Don't quote me on that though. 2. I believe roundabout is for detour. You don't have to actually swing around to get the buff. 3. Indestructible is the ability to handle low morale without any effect. So that means no lower health or mobility.

How does indestructible differ from viking raiders berserker skill then?
And to be more precise about the first question; I meant three legions in a row, legion is the whole stack of troops under one general, for example. And I know only one unit in single legion gives the boost, but if one unit is surrounded by, lets say 3 legions with one hospitaller and teuton, does it get the boost from all of them? Like 15% health and 15% damage reduction?

A barely useful skill since when are gens gonna get double morale drop apart from campaign.
