I decided to restart my game since I was tired of always playing with an archery lineup. I want to try out an infantry team since you get 2 good infantry generals for free but my question was what is a good lineup? I have the 3 IAP generals and I am considering using Richard, Barbarossa, Alexander, and Nobunaga. I have the bottle of life so I'm unsure if Caesar is needed but any assistance is welcome.
Or would a mixed lineup work better?

I'm considering using Alexander, Barbarossa, Richard, Napoleon, Genghis Khan, Washington, Nobunaga, and Nelson. Or should I ditch Nelson and use another infantry commander instead?

You almost bought all IAP gen bros. I don't have IAPs, so take my advice with a grain of salt . You probably do it well with that line up until age 5. Then you will need 2 commander of 1 type to boost overall attack to 3 star a map easier. Genghis Khan is ok there as to be used to clear up low HP unit. Napoleon is fine, but team of both Napoleon and Alex might be overkill. At some point, try replace with Peter/petain or both to increase damage output. Washington is good damage output. Nobu is needed in any team. Nelson is needed when you have 3 archer in your team to increase their damage. You can replace nelson with either peter/petain if you want to test it out. For player without IAPs: If I have 1 Archer, I will either use Nobu/Awakened Pacha. If I have 2 then I will use both of them. If I have 1 Cavalry, I will use Attila or Awakened Suri. If I have 2 then I will use both of them. If I have 1 Infantry, I will use Richard. If I have 2 then I add Barb. If I have 3 then I add Petain or Peter. Keep in mind that I have all end game items, so I can make weak gen to release decent output so they not die easily. If you just started, the high stats from Genghis khan/Washington is a factor that need to strongly look at. Plus, you have bottle of life, which can pump their health back.

Would it be a good idea to replace Alex with another commander so Richard Barbarossa and Peter/Petain? I usually use Genghis to rapidly charge the bottle of life to heal my team up. It works pretty well as even without commander boosts Genghis does some pretty serious damage. I've never actually needed two fort crackers so your point about Alexander is a good one. His slot would be much better used on another commander skill. I'm not sure where to go with archers. I'm sure that a commander could help immensely so maybe I'll try out Barbarossa Richard Peter/Petain Genghis Khan Washington Napoleon Nelson and Nobunaga. If the lineup starts to fail later on medals are plentiful enough so I should be able to adapt my team. Going to need to max many generals anyways for the unit trails. My plan is to use Genghis to rapidly heal the team, infantry to shield the archers and do damage due to commanders, and then archers sit behind to slaughter cavalry and any other troublesome troops. Thanks a ton for the suggestions!

You got it. I am the only source of information. You can review other here: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/5388/ah-mere-infantry-poor-beggarsI did read this one and several threads about infantry and I used infantry build until age 5. Then I started mix archer in my team. I complete all campaign normal and 3 star Volgograd using infantry and archer team. I didn't develop any cavalry team at all. I use cav/archer com team to do world war though as I do enjoy the mobility perk of cavalry after develop them to beat ust trail. In the 8 gens team, 2 nut crackers are overkill for most map, so that changes will have you in the long run (not necessarily now if you spend resources on Alex's advancement and skill, and just start building Peter/Petain). I would recommend to focus on one gen at a time, max them to super troop as the perk is nice for all - 30-40% chance to attack again for infantry, and 30% extra damage to cavalry with archers. Li update to super is good as it increase his performance a bit outside the fence, but the priority should on other unit first. While advancing gens, you do also want to improve their useful skills to a good level, especially the commander skills. Jonblend has a thread about skills cost and details of what change per level here for you to look and decide yourself: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/16719/list-skills-upgrade-costs
