Edit: All images added in The new challenge conquests are an easy way (for those who are in mid-to-late game) to get an easy 3k medals. However, the final objectives require you to finish in less than 25 turns (20 for three-star)!. This requires you to plan ahead and prioritize taking cities. Here I'll recommend the three easiest countries (for each star class) to do and briefly summarize their routes. Tech needed: Medium-high single digits (I had +1 mobility on tanks and artillery, but everything else is about level 7-ish). Preferably 9 air range, but if you have PMI that’s fine as well. Generals needed: 3-4 artillery generals (I used Govorov, Welding, Sikorski, and an EC with 3 artillery and mobility stars), 2 tank generals (Patton, Guderian), Sansonetti (occasionally used him instead of Sikorski or Guderian) Note: I will focus only on the European theatre. The asian theatre can almost always be beaten with the same strategy: Capture Shanghai with an air general (eg. Patton), then paratroop the rest of Asia except for Shenyang (which can be saved for later), then go for Japan. Ideally you want to capture Tokyo so you can deal with Sapporo, but if not then use paratroopers from Osaka and fighters from Yokohama to finish the job. Kill Japanese navy generals so the Allied spam can do its thing. Make sure Itagaki leaves Tokyo before you attack Japan.Ok, on with the show. Square brackets contain how many turns it took me to win. If you're approaching the turn limit, it's best to just wait until the last turn to end so you have as much resources as possible. 3 stars: 1. Great Britain (Best positioning, slightly harder than USSR) [20] Being the empire where the Sun never sets, you find yourself in close proximity to every great Axis power except Japan. In the east, simply destroy Thailand then continue on with the strategy above. In Europe, you also have a fairly linear path. Try to capture both Brussels and Amsterdam, and once you make your way inland split your forces into two. One small force (use Wingate) will go and capture Spain, and the rest will go for Germany, then Italy. In Africa, use your Arabian squad to capture Italian Ethiopia, and your African force to Libya, then Morocco. 2. France (Good positioning, hardest of the three) [25] France starts out with a much worse position in Asia, not being able to build a decent tank unit, so it would be helpful for you to capture Thailand. In Europe, kill off the German generals then make a thrust into central Germany, where you then go into Italy. Goering has a lot of health but if you've killed off most of the Germans then the Soviets will help you whittle him down. In Africa, split your forces so you can simultaneously go for Morocco, Libya, and Ethiopia. 3. USSR (Good positioning except for Italian Ethiopia, easiest of the three) [30] The USSR probably has the most straightforward route. Simply push into Europe, with your main force going into Southern Germany so you can reach Spain relatively easily. Leave a small reserve to deal with Finland, capture Shenyang before all your generals in Siberia die, and make sure you send a force to Ethiopia via Turkey to save time (I wasted at least 8 turns cause I forgot). 2 stars: 1. Egypt (Great positioning, easiest as well) [25] Starts in the thick of it, with an easy path into Italy, and an unobstructed path for you air general into Asia. Remember to send a general to Ethiopia. Not much else to say, Europe is fairly straightforward, and hope you get enough cities in Asia. 2. Poland (Good positioning, medium difficulty) [25] Good starting position in Europe with really bad starting troops. Prioritize building artillery for the first 2-3 turns so you can get rid of Guderian and his helpers. Remember to send an air general to Asia. Don’t worry about Finland. Go straight for Germany, again avoiding Goering until you have the firepower to deal with him. Let the Balkans fall so you can steal Romania, Yugoslavia, and Greece to launch paratroopers towards Ethiopia. 3. India (Decent positioning, easy difficulty) [25] You won’t be able to rely on spam to defeat Japan, but you are the spam. Send a couple of troops + your air general to kill Thailand en route to Shanghai, and then do the same thing you always do. Also send one of your artillery generals to Ethiopia. Everyone else goes to kill Turkey so you can use it as a landing spot in the Balkans, then use the same strategy that you’d use as the USSR. 1 star: 1. Greece (Best starting position, relatively easy) [25] You have a straight shot at Ethiopia, a decent start with Yugoslavia as a meatshield, and very easy access to Asia as well. Focus on building artilleries your first few turns, and kill Bulgaria as soon as possible so you can join forces with the USSR. 2. Yugoslavia (Great starting position, but brutal difficulty) [25] Spam artilleries for the first few turns and kill Bulgaria right away so you can deal with Germany. The USSR will help you deal with Romania, so parasnipe Bucharest or other cities when possible so you can expand to the north. Once Italian super tanks arrive try to lure them into the sea. Remember to send a tank to Shanghai. Let Greece fall so you can use Athens as a springboard to Ethiopia. 3. Norway (Decent starting position, easiest difficulty) [30] Kill Sweden so you can send Patton to China via Finland. Use Denmark as a landing spot so you can sweep southward and meet up with the Soviets. Amsterdam, Brussels, and Copenhagen will fall so steal those cities. Fairly straightforward. Other countries I’ve done that I don’t recommend: US [30] (bad position); Netherlands [35], Belgium [35], Denmark [35] (too easy to get boxed in); ROC [35] (bad position); All axis countries

Thanks for this detailed guide, it's especially good to know the turn limits (+strategy) for speed conquests so we don't have to do them multiple times As for the 100 cities achievement, do we need to declare war on our allies or is it possible with axis and attacking neutrals? (btw how many cities are there in total?) And do we have to keep allied neutrals alive or is it enough to just pay them for "ally x neutral nations"?

I believe there's 123 cities on the map (at least according to the ET discord), so the best country to do that with imo is the US cause you can build up your economy, let your allies take some punishment, and then betray them. I attacked every neutral country as well as GB, ROC, and France and that was enough. Allied neutrals have different AIs depending on how much money it costs to recruit them. I find that the 300-gold ones don't do that much, the 500-gold ones do a little more, and the 720-gold ones do about as much as a typically ally. Switzerland actually is pretty active though. For the ally x neutral nations one, you only have to pay them. In fact it's better to pay them and then just declare war on them (after you've destroyed their military) so you can steal their cities.

Just adding my 2 cents, I found both Norway and Netherlands as pretty easy and got the 25 on them. I think you might have missed the Dutch East Indies so look east. As Netherlands, take the artillery and troops there, rush Siam then take Shanghai whenever you want. The Germans mostly ignor you and you can take 2 arty generals and take Cologne (Stop Rommel Spawn) then rush Berlin. The Germans will rush back for Berlin but you can massacure them with superhevies. Same thing as Denmark. The German ai seems to really fail at defending Berlin. Rush Berlin with 2 arty generals, spawn 1st super heavy, and immediately send him east. Then spawn 2nd super heavy with your best tank general and send him south to Athens.

What I had trouble with playing as the Netherlands was that I was boxed in, and in order to access Munich I not only had to kill the German generals but also avoid getting shredded by Berlin because I was so close to it. I found that it really wasn't worth it to try to take Berlin before the Soviets arrive because Goering has absolutely insane defense and the biggest factor in getting sub-25 is income, which I found much easier to increase by attacking south. I know a lot of people did pretty well with the Netherlands, I just didn't personally like using them. Denmark is alright as long as you can link up with the Soviets. There are definitely better options though. Norway is a very good choice.

Darth Nihilus, do you have something similar planned for 1943 and 1950? I found especially the 1 and 2 star nations to be really difficult. I was usually able to barely make it on the last turn or one before that and required no unnecessary spending and a little luck in the early game. Maybe a better strategy of different nations would have been easier... But what's worst: only ~170 points after these challenges. It seems we need to complete all countries in each era to get the last 4 legion medals (or wait for an update that will add 1960 and aliens).

I've done most of the major 1943 countries so far, so here's my two cents: The Patton-only strategy no longer works because Japan has a lot more navy this time. You'll probably need to send at least two generals to each front if you want sub-25/30/35. Best 3-stars: USSR (amazing location), UK (good defense but bad asian location), US (actually decent location due to Patton in Africa, + accessing Japan's back door) Best 2-stars: ROC. No one else really gives you a chance, except maybe India and possibly France. Best 1-stars: Egypt. Send two generals (1 tank + infantry or artillery) to steal either Hanoi or Bangkok. Your allies will help you for the first few turns but they'll really struggle after Japanese spam arrives so you absolutely need to have a foothold in Asia. Send Nasser to Ethiopia, 1-2 generals to Libya and then Sicily (Graziani, Badoglio, and Brauchitsch are gonna try to ruin your day, but by taking Sicily you can permanently stall them), and 2 generals + armoured car spam to Turkey and the Caucasus. Buy out Turkey as well so they can help you. Tips: If the Soviets lose Moscow you're gonna have a bad time. Kill Manstein and Guderian using your ion cannon. If ROC loses Nanking you're also gonna have a bad time, but if they take Peking early on they might be ok. The UK is a beast. Even if they lose London they'll probably be ok.

For some reason I encountered a problem that SEA allies worked a bit too hard and defeat Thailand when my generals still cutting across India to get there, am I supposed to take the cities first or wait IJA steals them for me to take? Also, my generals got nuked when helping UK in Libya, should I wait until Tripoli fell?

Also, my generals got nuked when helping UK in Libya, should I wait until Tripoli fell? If your allies take Bangkok I think you'll be fine. They did as well when I played Egypt, so in that case try to take Hanoi. Japan will usually be able to attack Bangkok enough for you to steal it, if not then split your forces and send half each to Singapore and Hong Kong. I suggest waiting a couple of turns before getting to Libya, yeah. But you don't necessarily have to capture Tripoli first, you could also go for the Algerian city if Tripoli hasn't fallen by the time you get there.

3 star: USSR was easy
2 star: I was playing Canada when I noticed the increase in difficulty so it ended in 31 turns. Not wanting to repeat the same country, I took ROC and got 30 turns but mostly due to learning from previous mistakes and more try-harding on my part.
Canada gets about twice as many resources and entering Europe via France or Spain is imo easier and faster than by coming from the East as ROC. 1 star: Egypt Yamamoto (and the other non general units as well as 1-2 ships) to the Pacific, Nasser and Sikorski go with him to Ethiopia, then turn west to clear the rest of Africa. Two arty ECs cross the Mediterranean to the Balkans and then into Germany. Goring is placed along the way (or tank EC if there is an opportunity for a super tank).
1950:
3 star: USA (USSR is possible, too but rather use it for all allies & all cities run) 2 star: Spain: don't spend anything and you can ally Germany when passing them to fight the Soviets together. 1 star: Greece because the have a super tank available right from the beginning and can produce more. I ended up with 4 tank generals one arty and one air but that's certainly not required. I produced field artillery and super tank for Guderian and EC, then allied Germany while fighting off the soviet spam around the Hungary/Romania/Ukraine area. In the meantime Patton and Katukov (the former disappointed; 10% expropriation was not enough to keep him productive aka above 50% health) went to Egypt and further South. After defeating most of the Soviet generals, Goring and tank EC rushed east to ambush China which did a weird standoff with the Allies along their coast line.
Note: medal swapping doesn't seem to work in conquest: when I realized I need to help Patton, I gave 2 tank medals to Katukov before deploying him but in the conquest his inventory showed 2 empty slots (which he had when I started the scenario)

Nice, I actually haven't gotten around to doing 1950 yet but it does seem like NATO has a much easier time. I found lifesteal to be pretty disappointing on Patton because he doesn't have tide of iron, so I usually use tank cluster on him instead.

You have up to 30 turns for 2-star and 35 turns for 1-star, and I can promise you that those runs are definitely possible (at least with ROC and Egypt) :)

I played Norway and beat it in 39 rounds without sending a single unit to Asia. I also didn't find Goering a problem with a decent artillery general. I beat UK in 30 rounds with Vatutin and Govorov. When I did Norway Dowding singlehandedly took out Rommel, and I was able to clear up spam pretty well. It's good to know someone's still making guides for WC3 though
