Any tips on how to keep the two scots from running into 5 enemies? I'm starting to get really pissed at the fact that I have to baby sit two suicidal AI

Aid them quickly and a general like B*ldwin to keep them out of combat, if not put your units in front of them and a healer to keep the two generals alive. Also try to kill the red units as fast as possible.

Hide Gilbert behind your troops and defend him, use him only to give a final strike to already damaged enemy troops. A big attack from the north can really save your time, while the enemies are heading east and live their key targets open.
