I looked at a Subutai, 202 archery points, some dmg enhancing gems, his unique weapon, 22% dmg reduction, while seated in a lvl 10 castle with the lvl 3 anti-cav wear gear (25% cav dmg reduction) and three ranged cav units. While the castle stands, my Baldwin IV attacks. One dmg point to the enemy while Subutai gave him a 1000 dmg points back.
It's no secret that a high atk and dmg points can enable a punishing counterattack, but how are my cav gens dealing little to no dmg?

If i guess correctly the damage that your baldwin dealt is after he's getting damaged by ranged counterattack 1st (i think thats from the ranged counter mechanics, meanwhile melee is getting attacked 1st b4 countering). Therefore baldwin's damage is not from his 100% condition. Sorry for bad english

I think that level of units has something to do with it as well. Today my Nevsky (lvl 14 Boyars, lvl 15 JBC and lvl 18 Cataphracts) attacked Timur (lvl 20 Mamlukes, lvl 20 IBC, lvl 20 Dragoons) and was annihilated without doing any noticeable damage.

Well, it is true that I brought troops generally half or 3/4 of the enemy's lvls (18-ish).
Right, the ranged counterattack mechanics. Makes sense because it would cripple him before he could deal his blow.
