New update for WC3 brings us the 1950 challenge conquest, where we're going to play an unlikely challenger: Mexico!
Mexico has been upped to two stars from one in normal conquests and would be a solid (if slow) choice playing normally, with your main base and income far away from the frontlines and potential enemies.
But - we're gonna do something special for this conquest. We won't use any generals at all to win! In fact, we only need to move one single troop (a unit to steal Havana to gain more income)
Your move (yes, just the one)
The main strategy is to gather resources and wait until you have enough funds to start bringing in neutrals. 1950 is the conquest that has the most powerful neutral nations by far and bringing them into your alliance should be the top priority for anyone in 1950 challenge.
The order of calling allies should go somewhat like this:
Germany (meatshield against WTO forces) -> Italy (opens up Southern Europe) -> India (distracts China) -> Saudi Arabia (distracts WTO in Middle East and Africa) -> Finland (puts more pressure on northern Russia, should only be called in once Leningrad is empty) -> Yugoslavia (meatshield) -> Romania (meatshield) -> Switzerland/Colombia (for the sake of getting the 9 allies achievement)
After everyone has been brought in, just give all your income away to your allies. Oil is very important because they love running out of them.
If there are any requirements to the conquest, they would be all resource wonders to up your income. If you don't have them, the conquest will take longer, or alternatively you can steal some more cities/oilfields/villages to generate the funds you need to be the arsenal of NATO.
Here are some pictures from the conquest. It took exactly 100 turns, so it isn't going to win any speedrun records any time soon, but it takes minimal effort and skill to pull off.
Notice that Germany, despite being neutral, spawns in some generals. I believe Italy also does this.
The perennial oil shortages. I gave priority to the UK since they have the first move (immediately after your turn).
Turn 99. Victory achieved without a single Mexican life lost! Now to work on the turn limit achievement...
