Hi, I wonder what does exactly give battle ability. If your general is an artillery and you place him on infantry, his unit's attack will be multiply by percent of battle ability. But if you place artillery general on artillery, will battle ability and artillery ability be added?

That's how it works. Battle Ability is generic and applies to all units while specialised abilities apply to that specific class of units.
