What I could tell is that we have more than enough Technology to deploy better ships and change War Gears from ships to land units.
Additionally, defeating all French commanders should cause a massive morale drop for all enemies or the Genoan fleet, which will severely reduce their 3k+ reinforced units.
I recommend keeping a few units and gens to use on land once the first ships have been cleared.
Give priority to occupying the NE castle in case of enemy spam until you take the city.
I think a few units may retreat to land to confront us. Having good war gears should help.
I'm still stuck on Hard.

Yes. Triggering morale drop. And using cnut and his calmness to reducing the dmg from those generals while taking them out.
