I think if the weapon is free, the general will be IAP, and vice-versa.

You're forgetting the additional 15-16 dedicated to getting their unique equipment.

Say no more. I'm somewhat fine with the normal iap gens, but I hate the medal purchase triumphs. Yes, I understand they give additional rewards for supporting ET by spending money, but even if you spend a lot of money for all the normal iap generals, there are still others locked for you. My point is, for that amount you should be able to get all "content".
They should either be about spending money, not just buying medals (buying iap gens should count for the triumph too) or the gens should be obtainable other way and the unit fragments and such could be additional gifts for buying medals.
