I noticed on an old conquest records thread that someone had a 6 turn conquest as the US in 1861. I assumed that like the Austrian 2 turn 1914 run this had been patched out but now looking at it and playing through it a bit I think it might be possible.
Starting out the only two nations in the war are the CSA and the Iroquois - Canada joins turn 5, UK turn 7, and the first South American nation to join is Venezuela at turn 8. Therefore it should be possible to take out CSA, Iroquois and Canada before the UK joins (could potentially bribe them out to buy an extra turn?). It looks possible, especially if you can quickly take Ottawa and peace Canada out. I know the Iroquois can be quickly peaced out too if you send the troops from Billings up to their capital, I've managed to knock them out before Canada joins a few times but I'm not that great at finessing the AI in this game.
Biggest problem to my mind would seem to be taking out the CSA (can't peace them out), with mobility being a big hurdle. Mexico should help but I just get bogged down before the war expands.
Has anyone done this personally or has any advice for doing this?

Nvm just managed to do it after a few more tries and a change in strategy - just bribe Canada out on turn 2 and then bum rush the CSA and the Iroquois.

After a few more tries, learning how the AI reacts, and some good rng (Lee left Richmond, got a few double shots with Beseler and Ivanov, cavalry generals almost always had a second go after destroying units) I've wittled it down to 5 turns. 4 turns may be possible if you have max tech and generals fully upgraded/goated, but I think 5 turns may be the upper limit for the 1861 conquest. Has anyone done it in 4?

I've done a good amount of runs back in the earlier version, 4 turns was too fast back then. No matter what you did, you lacked a turn to take damaged cities in the south. Maybe now though there are some buffs that make it possible

Maybe now though there are some buffs that make it possible ah those days when we can do usa 4 turns and another one that can complete in 1-2 turns.
