European War 6 is probably the only easytech game I don’t forget about and revisit after months only to forget what I was doing. It’s in my opinion the best easytech game. So, here’s a medium-effort guide to the generals you should get! (Note that this guide is fully F2P)
INFANTRY:
1. Karl- My favorite infantry general in the game. He’s Massena but even more powerful. Equip a Ferguson and maybe a medical item and he’s going to survive to the end of any conquest. His aura is great and positioning him on a grenadier in the forest will make him near unstoppable.
2. Massena- Karl but more beginner-accessible and somewhat weaker. He would probably go in number 3 if this guide was for more experienced players, but he’s the most accessible good general early game and can help out well. Aura is his selling point.
3. Washington- Very good for damage and can be quite handy on a grenadier. Combine him with Massena and/or Karl’s aura and he’s a great damage dealer. For more experienced players he could even take number 2 but since this guide is mostly intended for amateur to moderate players, he takes number 3
CAVALRY:
1. Murat- My favorite general in the game and the one I assign first in every campaign/conquest. If developed enough, can cripple an entire army by himself. His aura is also extremely useful.
2. Davout- Some would say Dabrowski in second place, but I’m gonna take this damage dealer over just an aura general. Very good paired with someone like Murat but not crucial early in the game.
3. Dabrowski- 3rd best cavalry general. Good for his aura and cavalry ability. However, aside from decent abilities not much else of note. I’ll give him 3rd since there aren’t really any great cavalry generals other than these 3.
ARTILLERY
1. Mahmud II- Only number 1 general in this guide which I do not own. I don’t need Mahmud since I already have Napoleon for aura, but since Napoleon is DLC I can’t rank him. Overall, Mahmud is a great aura general with good attack. Best first artillery general, although Jourdan will be good enough for some time.
2. Kutuzov- Although he doesn’t have aura, he’s great at damage dealing especially with an aura artillery near him. Good as a secondary artillery general, but don’t get him as your first artillery general.
3. Alexander I- Has aura which is good, and ok at damage. Nice in conquest due to the Russian’s special artillery unit. However, no point in buying him unless you’re really struggling to get medals for Mahmud.
NAVY: (NOTE: Don’t get navy generals until late game as you don’t need them early on)
1. Nelson- Easy choice. Good damage dealer and the only navy admiral worth paying for, unless MAYBE you have fully discounted Hood, but even then Nelson is a better buy.
2. Hood- See above.
No third place since you would never really need to buy a third navy admiral, even really late game.
Order of Purchase:
1. Murat
2. Massena
3. Mahmud II
4. Karl
5. Davout/Dabrowski
6. Kutuzov/Washington
After that, your choice! Hope this helped
