I dont know about the generals but troop wise Tang dynasty would be my pick. With the titles you can train t6 chinese troops in all castles. These are hengdao, modao, bagaj, jbac and zhuge. I think this is very hard to counter in normal mode. However in challenge, mercenary unit levels are bound to your progress in them so thats a whole different stuff.

I have realized most nations can train up to lvl 3 troops while wre/byzantium can train all the way up to lvl 6 muskets? I dont know if this is intended or not but these troops are incomparable to lvl2-lvl3 units.
Also again idk if it is intended or not but Danes gain too much resource as an enemy. They spam the whole north europe, train like crazy but their wealth does not decrease below 4k? I am not sure if this is a bug or not but try to be enemies with them on border, in challenge mode.

You have to upgrade your Nation to empire, lvl 3 National polisy, to get lvl 5 troops.

But these troops should be visible on the recruit tab right? with the age requirement noted. This was the case so far in the game and it is still the case for lvl2-3 troops in this map, they are shown before you can recruit them. |
