So as the title, I would like to ask why - still so many players are stacking legions in Territory Defense? Successful defense does not give you anything while it costs some additional time for your opponent. I thought that was obvious but still I find myself among full legions with richard-matilda-dingfang? Of course many of them are challenging maps where you need like 10 turns to complete.
Considering many players put a single unit at the map border so you can finish as you start, how come rest doesnt follow the obvious?
I would like to point out the unnecessary frustration I have when the lowest possible enemy has 150k battle strength.

My best guess is that people like to watch how their defense can stand against some formidable opponents. I don't see any other fun in Territory battles other than that And even this one is of questionable quality

I don't like it because it inconveniences me and I take a view that I opened the app just to maximise by daily earnings.
Maybe they still enjoy the "PVP" aspect? Want to show off their gens and stuff?
I don't think that many of us F2P players have the time or open-mindedness to absorb these players' (who are usually P2W / generic pay players or collectors / ET's hardcore supporters) teachings.
Also, after updating the game, I see far fewer easy targets and far more who are out of my league. Is it because ET changed their matching system? This shouldn't be the case because I can barely field 170k atk points against the many 180k-200k and even up to 300k players.

This is time consuming and they must have known why many strong players are just leaving one unit at the defense. For me if I got 5 benevolent opponets its less than 2mins, otherwise it may go up to 15-20 mins especially if I got sea/snow/desert-2 maps. I think there should be a "gg" button of sort that many multiplayer games have. If you like the encounter give your opponent a "gg" and they got a small benefit/bonus from that. I believe that would help greatly.

Also, don't be fooled if they have one legion. It could be a trap like that of the strongest defensive legion discussed in this board.
Auto-battle will send your troops to their doom and even manual play is not a guarantee for victory.

Desert terrains with 3 fens are often built to murder waves as you can barely move with that terrain

Could also have buried a supporting general like Joan or Caesar in the back to cause more pain.

True. I put my legion at full strength, until I figured out that when you succeed a defensive it won't give you any reward except your pride of victory So now I set my legion with 1 gens/single unit, guess would save some time for an opponent
I ever seen a player with 360K power and OMAYGOT😭, all of their generals are level 5 gems, gold or purple tier equipment ,some of the general is 300+ capabilities and all troop talent are maxed So this is the player who like to watch how their defendsive withstand a strong opponents

I think I saw a 300k power guy but he had like several max level Teutaxes. Easy enough to dispose of with auto since they were spread apart and it was easy to pick off one after another. People just like flexing you know.

if it was real pvp i would understand player does that . Since it’s not why ? Scam the auto people. Only reason i can think of why Doubly so if you relaxed your guard when you glance at that one legion, but it shreds your men when the AI deploys them. Plus, despite being in the same 170k+ range as my 12 gens, some gens can shred opposition, even those with advantages. A 200+ ranged Timur or some archer crippled Cnut and/or Harald Hardrada more than once, and both have the protecting of the Tangdao's shield in their 3× melee inf lineups. Even the advantages gained with Talents may not be properly reflected in the atk power stated, IMO. There was a thread on creating an unbeatable legion featuring Wallace alone, I believe. And the person used the starting terrain.

As a casual player (would say I just got to the mid game) when I first saw territory mode, my first instinct was just to put everything I have to defend it. I wasn't and still I'm not aware wether defending it actually matters or not, as I have never seen any sort of feedback that people actually interact with my territory. Do other players beating your territory actually change anything for you? Because if me maxing out my generals is just a waste of time for someone else, I can change that real quick
