For clarity- I lost all gens except Guderian by the end of it. He and Konev are the only ones near max out. This was done on my 1st run, Normal mode. And I was unaware it was a hold the Line battle for the first few rounds. I started out with Frontier mode mentality to surround Forts with bunkers or destroy them, and capture cities thinking spawns points were forts. With this in mind, i made my left flank the main attack vector, taking 1st city and surrounding nearest fort.
I Continued with that attack vector due east, while holding Northern lines. Enemy ships on left city i ignored. About midway i realized troops spawn threat came from cities and I wasted lots of resources securing them. i had invested in my city productions, but finances should be priority. You wont need tons of industry as for missile production, or technology.
To rectify the overstep, i started building bunkers and defenses on choke points of terrain i controlled, used Monty and Runs Elastic defense, and it was a juggling act in the late stages. i remember thinking, if i had to repeat this battle, wnat corrections i would make and even contemplated building rings of defenses around the middle and eastern cities, but still attack out of the left flank.
War is as much accounting and logistics as it is anything else, so keep eyes on resources, being efficient, choke points, like the one between the 2 cities furthest East, etc.
The hard mode allows for 12 gens, but that means i have to upgrade several mediocre gens to meet that challenge. Will see how it goes as is after tinkering with medals, ribbons, and placing who where.

Agreed, Clark is leagues better. Hell, I'd buy Mac over Clark and Mannerheim and Rundstedt. He's pretty solid. MacArthur is unquestionably the second best F2P infantry. I would go so far as to say he's better than Yamashita?

Wow, ok thanks! Your generals must be very upgraded if you went on the attack, my generals would get destroyed very fast.

YDE , Simo Hayha is a joke? You must not know how to play him. Knowing how to use tools is what decides what is good, not to mention the unheard of, +2 range for Simo on infantry troops or elite unit. Example of how to use gens., i bet i could beat a maxed out Nimitz on an AC....At Sea... with just a non maxed Graziani, as is mine...a mediocre hybrid. im sure SIMO can give any other infantry commander a run for their money, and even arty units, possibly tanks. His mobility is just another overlooked factor.
We both agree Mannerheim is a low class silver tier commander, but as far as the other new Commanders, ive not had an opportunity to use any.
Oh I know how to play him, and he's still meh. All he has is double range, that and raider, but that's it. Infantry are made for bunker busting, and simo lacks the crucial explosives. I've even used Simo on Finnish commandos and his damage was poor compared to Yama and Marshall. At best he's a weird support, having a weaker rumor that's doubly expensive. He falls flat to fortresses, camouflage is a miss kill, guerilla is meh especially when you consider you'll have a tanker use the blitz/guerilla medal instead, and raider ofc is good. My thing is I can buy Mac, who has infantry leader and can get raider and explosives, the three key skills for infantry. There is no versatility in Simo, you get what you see. So bunker destroying options, his dmg is meh, and his deterrence is a weak rumor. He's ESPECIALLY not worth the money he's asking for, nor the medals he wants. So don't assume I don't know how to use him or other gens, I know how to play to their strengths, and Simo has little.

In any case, Hayha is great, and he puts everyone else to shame. Disagree for the reasons I stated earlier. Not worth the irl money, not worth the crazy amount of medals he wants, and 3 meh skills with no versatility (Compared to Yama's 2 meh skills, and I still find bayonet fine, especially on Samurai or Burgers if I'm desperate)

Heinz Guderian, a maxed out Rundstedt is indeed slightly better than Mannerheim. But you have to upgrade him a lot because his default skills are not only quite useless, but also as low as lvl1, while Mannerheim is way better at the beginning with his lvl3 raider and lvl3 jungle fighting. I bought Mannerheim as my main infantry general a long ago and I have never been disappointed.

Heinz Guderian, I gave mine guerilla as the fourth skill, but Infantry leader is generally more recommended by other players.
