The tank medal increases tank general survivability very significantly so it's good in general
Excellence medal is nice on artillery and provides that hail mary when you're on the verge of winning

With the excellence medal, I've just spent some time using it. It definitely does seem like the best especially with heavy damage and no retaliation units.

Does the medal add base damage?
Instead of e.g. how plain fighting adds damage on top.

I think you are better than Wittmann. _ Wittmann is slow (3/4* movement) _ skill can't be changed. _ His "Ace tank" and others are good but "Tide of Iron". _ He's M. General. but he's cheaper than you. |

Should I put inspiring on manstein instead of rumour? I've maxed him out with the other skill being explosives. I've also got the level 2 tank attack and level 2 defence ribbon on him. With 4 attacks per round(excellence medal level 7) he's been nuking stuff especially in frontier(can get up to 400 damage on the weak fortress).
