list seems great once fully invested but very expensive, is he really worth getting? also what are the 2 best skills for konev, i was told inspiration > plain fighting. not sure if explosives is worth as 5th skill

Inspiration is only good if you can have it permanently active. For Guderian that's not a problem since he attacks and kills a lot. Konev usually doesn't get to deliver the killing blow, so it's only 30% chance of activation per turn.
I'd say rumor and one of plain/explosive/crowd tactics depending on your play style.
