There are some things in the original list I really disagree with... Few thoughts of my own: 1. If you want MEDALS, battle pass is definitely the best option. 2. THE BEST iap if you just want more "raw strenght" is definitely the excellence medal, no doubt. However, it needs some investment to upgrade it and really make it shine. But in max level you could pretty much think about it as a legal cheat code, its the only iap you would ever need to pass things like doomzone and frontier. 3. About generals. Yes, Wittmann is definitely good, but Guderian and Manstein with just inspiration can do about same dmg as him, and can also have one more skill which you can choose, like rumor or explosives or just plain, so those two are still better. Manstein also has marshall rank, Guderian has bio, and I think Manstein is very likely to get one too in the future, so... Also McCampbell, while technically better than f2p alternatives, is one of the worst iaps. The little increase he has over, say Arnold, is not worth the price, and all other iap air gens are better so why waste money on him? Coulson is decent but Spaatz is much better so if you want air iap, just get Spaatz. Why better? Becouse even without his anti-air ignore, their damage-cost against city defense would be about same, since Coulson doesn't have carpet bombing. (40% dmg vs 50% dmg due to cost reduction, Coulson only wins by 10% more dmg). And since Spaatz has anti-air ignore, that gives him +65% more dmg at best, and he can attack simply ANYTHING with full force. Hayha is definitely viable, for me he is the best infantry gen in the game when he is maxed and is very hard to kill when built properly. Also he is useful in every situation (while specializing in killing generals, and used in hawkeye), unlike Yamashita who is mainly useful in frontier, and Marshall, who is an oddball... Marshall needs other inf gens to truly shine, but you propably rarely would use more than one. Also explosives doesn't work with his joint attack and he is very overpriced. Williams is propably the worst iap in the game. He tries to be tank with his attack again thing, but there is just no point in this when tanks can simply do the same things as him but much better. If he at least had arty leader, he could be somewhat viable. Also Tolby and Yeryomenko are both awesome, one of the best in tank and arty respectively. For their cheap price, they are the number 1 purchase in terms of iap generals. So TLDR, best iaps to get imo are... -Excellency medal -Tolby & Yeryo pack -Battle pass Depending of what you want. Your point about Marshall is so wrong because I have tested Eichelberger’s joint attack with Kluge and the joint attack dmg is basically the sum of their individual attack dmgs, so explosives should work too since it is a passive type skills unlike rumor, and warzone levels and events often see the use of more than 7 generals (8 in conquest, also campaigns/frontier if Zhukov/Manstein had been bought), and fighting fortress is where Marshall outshine Tolby and Eichelberger.

This link perfectly summarizes why Simo is not viable at all european-war-4.boards.net/post/361600. To just put it simply hes the gen with the highest dmg for a unit whose purpose isnt used for dealing high dmg. Yama isnt even far off when it comes to just dealing dmg and is way more efficient and versatile than simo thanks to 2 free skill slots(correct me but i dont think you can switch simos skills). His worst skill beinng ace forces is far better than simos camo. If simos detterence was at least a 60% when max maybe he could be in the argument for needed gens but it doesn’t even scratch 50%. Overall a waste of medals to max him for a role that other gens do much better(Guderian,Konev,Wittmann, Manstein the list goes on)

ok so we can all agree that excellence medal is best iap, but what is 2nd best, some say battle pass although it doesn't give as much as wc3 and generals cost more in general to upgrade, some say wittman is the best iap general but others disagree.
For someone who is trying to complete doom warzone easier, i was told that a 5th tank general > 2nd inf/naval or 3rd artillery, so i'm considering maybe getting wittman. i'm assuming in doom warzone, the enemy have high defence and his ignore defence skill will be useful. Or should i just go for the battle pass as it will give me frontier currency to upgrade my excellence medal + medals to upgrade my generals faster? Although it would take a long time to grind medals and i don't like waiting, i would eventually be able to get all medals + frontier currency from battle pass by just grinding whereas wittman can only be obtained by purchasing, so getting wittman seems like the 2nd best iap after excellence for anyone in endgame?
That is only if a 5th tank would be better than getting an air gen like spatz, or artillery gen like kluge, for anyone who has completed doom warzone, can you please recommend what to pick.

I won't debate whether to buy gen(s) or battle pass since they are two very different things, make your decision yourself. However, if you decide to go for general, I don't think Wittmann is the best option. Manstein, tho bit more expensive, is definitely better now that his skills can be changed. Also best value for money is the soviet pack. For less than either Wittmann or Manstein, you get two very good generals, even if they require more medals to upgrade.

Less than half? In my country at least its 9,5€ (Wittmann) vs 13€ (Manstein). And maybe not superhigh difference, but Manstein with just inspiration as his additional skill does about same damage as Wittmann (Wittmann probably wins by a little with high-defense enemies). But Manstein can still have one more additional skill, be it rumor, plain or explosives to one-shot bunkers or anything you choose. He also has Marshall rank and thus more hp and I am pretty sure he will get a biography soon, but ofc thats just prediction.
Second, soviet pack weak? Sure Yeryo is not the best, but he is decent, better than f2p artys at least aside from Konev perhaps. And Tolby has the highest dmg potential in the whole game, he's literally a moving nuke. And both together cost just 8€.

Not a little, Wittmann does 20% more damage than full damage build (Plain+Inspiring) Manstein against high defense units, medals and Manstein's rumored biography (crit damage + atk) included. That's a lot. Tolbukhin relies too heavily on his teammates. He has a lot of potential, but without good protection he won't perform well.

What’s the max damage you’ve seen Wittman do on tiger or super tanks in the events? I’m assuming level 4/5 red ribbon, the tank medal, and of course level 5 AA with medal. My Guderian and Manstein with PF (rumor, no inspiration) consistently do 250+, which is why I still think they dominate Whitmman overall: better mobility, explosives, and/or rumor.

Doesn't that support my argument that he highly relies on teammates? Not on wrong premise though, you are no different than call medic bad unit because it is not dps and highly relies on teammates to use, which is totally misjudgment. Tolbukhin highly relies on teammates is not a disadvantage, it is how he intended to be use. To me, Tolbukhin’s armored Army Group, Eichelberger Attack Guidance and Marshall’s Infantry Group Charge are not really identical in a situational sense: IGC on Marshall aims at boosting the first strike ability of the trio he led, his teammates are his follow up elements. AG on Eichelberger focuses on providing a function akin to Williams’ self-propelled artillery skill to his teammate, the dps is whoever hits harder. AAG on Tolbukhin aims at weakening tough target for his teammate and should there is a need, set things up for the latter to go on a killing spree, any general tagged with him is the dps.

Medic and Tolbukhin are different. Medic doesn't have to handle any combat tasks. They can move to safer spots and I'm fine with them not dealing any damage. Tolbukhin has to engage in combat and, if his targets aren't stunned, take a heavy hit every time he attacks. It's not as much of a problem if you use accompany him with medic or rumor generals or have high level blue ribbon, but splitting forces will risk leaving Tolbukhin's weakness exposed. This is especially true in your case when you are using Tolbukhin mainly against tough opponents. I also agree that Tolbukhin is different than Eichelberger, but another thing I'd add is Marshall and Eichelberger both have ways to last longer (healing, avoid counterattack, damage reduction) but Tolbukhin has none. I'm not saying Tolbukhin is awful because his damage is no joke, it's just he's less prone to mistakes. Or you can just use him as a kamikaze general. lol
