From time to time there are attempts to complete WC4 using only generals from one country. I don't know whether these attempts are successful or not, but it is definitely fun to try. Probably it is not at all a challenge if we only use German generals. But other than that it should be really challenging. I completed the game years ago and haven't made any attempts to replay it since then. I see many new features and modes of the game, and I am curious to find out whether my previous experience is still valid today. So, I am planning to go as far as possible buying only Soviet generals. Since Horton is free, and I don't "buy" him in technical terms, I am planning to use him too. So, no IAP generals, no Guderian, Rommel, List, Nenonen, Leeb, Doenitz, Nimitz, MacArthur, Yamashita and many other players' favorites. It should be an interesting run   |

When I was young and healthy... I mean when I played WC4 for the first time Well, we have a rule of thumb or a conventional wisdom back then. Namely, the best way to start the game for a new player is: - To buy Messe and with his help to get Guderian. Or - to go straight for Guderian I wasn't ever a fan of this approach, because at the start the aim is to get as many resources as possible as early as possible. Getting Guderian is not the aim of the game He is too expensive to be our first or even second general. I am also not sure whether we need Messe nowadays or not. Back then to farm medals was a real pain. We didn't have daily login rewards, ads, battle pass. None of them. Now it is possible to collect 1800-2000 medals relatively easy. And I believe new players have a better plan than just to go for Guderian. For 1800 medals we can buy one decent tank general (List or Vatutin) and with his help to unlock 40% discount for Konev. Thus a new player already could get a "team" able to complete majority of missions and beating off majority of Invasions (List/Vatutin for tanks, Konev for Infantry/Artillery, Horton for Navy) Konev is very good at winning Invasions. On my previous run I didn't have a single Infantry general and yet Infantry Invasions were probably the easiest of all types of Invasions. So, currently I have 1800 medals and it's time to make my first purchase.   Now it is the second stage of my plan: namely to get 40% discount for Konev and to purchase him. |

First stage of the plan to get Konev is completed. After 5 days of playing I was able to unlock 40% discount. Now it's time to earn enough medals for the purchase.   |

Konev is in the bag.   My next objective is to purchase Bagramyan. He is the cheapest general of those I am planning to use. Many missions require 4 generals to be completed and I don't want to lose any of free rewards.   |

Day 7 Horton and Bagramyan are in the team. Now it is possible to complete all daily missions and collect rewards. Now it's time to farm a bit and to save medals for my most expensive general, namely Rokossovski.     |

Since the project is too interesting to abandon it completely I decided to continue it. I am curious how far is it possible to go. Quite likely I'll have some stumbling blocks sooner or later, but I won't give up without a fight I decided to postpone to hire Rokossovsky and got Vasilevsky first. There are several reasons for it.   First, ET were nice enough to give us Pavlov. Second, Vasilevsky is more useful in War zone and Frontier mode when we can't hire heavy tanks at our leisure. Third, I don't know at the moment how to upgrade Rokossovsky. Honestly... In most cases Soviet generals have only one free slot and it is usually no-brainer to add AA(Accuracy etc.) or Rumor. At first my plan was to add AA and Blitzkrieg. But now I am not so sure about the latter. It is tempting to attack without retaliation but since there are different means nowadays to restore health and to disable opponents isn't the value of Blitzkrieg a bit diminished if compared to Inspiration or a Terrain bonus? What do you think? |

If you can get the level 4 or 5 supply tape, maybe the best thing would be inspiration to be able to send him to his ball a little while your doctor provides support to your other generals at another point on the front, if not the best thing would be blitzkrieg, it is always useful relieve the doctor's work |
