the forum has gone quiet now, with only a recent few posts. It is unlike the past where there are many people doing posts and things. So i ask you, what are the things or people that you miss here in the forums? Maybe give them a recognition! letme start with Saltin, where is this one i miss

For me it is a great pity that you can't send anymore private messages!
Some things have to be organized before going public. It was a great feature - lucylie I had some old conversations, because sometimes coordination is indispensable to make nice feeds.

Let's face it, guys... Every thing that has a beginning, has an end as well. My hopes were that after GCS release the place will be crowded again, but, alas, my hopes were dashed. The worst thing is that there isn't any place to go, since ET's discord Chanel is a total mess completely unsuitable for serious discussions. One principle of stoicism is: "if you can't change things, - accept them as they are". So, I do

𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘴𝘬𝘺, I also miss private messages

Maybe just the channels dedicated to parking stars... But probably also this forum would be a mess if it had so many users. The problem is that discord encourages a constant chit-chat and everything gets lost, more or less

And for special questions I found it best to ask them when certain people (whose opinion I value) are online

I feel like the fate of this forum was sealed the second Officers' Lounge died. That was inevitable imo. Now, obviously games have also been one of the most active fields given that this is a gaming community, but if you ask me, the underlying drive of the ultimate fall of activity was the lose of that spirit of community. We held forum games, we chatted about non-gaming topics etc. But as major members immigrated to other platforms, and the player base was gradually reduced to a few veterans, the general level of activity also fell. Unfortunately, there is neither much incentive for people to post lately, nor is there much to talk about anyhow (me, for example. Personally I don't really play ET games, so I haven't had much reason myself once non-gaming topics were gone).
Now, of course, weeping after what we no longer have won't solve a thing. Alas, we cannot just bring the former glory of the forum back by snapping our fingers. What we ought to do, and really, the only thing we can do is, to make the most out of what we are given. After all, we need not have 10,000 members to enjoy each others' company, do we?
That's my two cents, anyways.

I also miss alexandrvasilevski and his historical lectures. He always seemed like a pretty knowledgeable guy who contributed a lot to debates intellectually, which I respected. I hope he's alright, wherever he might be now.

TBH, I kinda miss doing those "panzer guide" posts or whatever back in an earlier (or I guess is it later?) life. Also, remember when the newsletter was a thing?
