The map is shaped like a butterfly, without the lower half of its body, at a glance. You deploy troops at the two lower tips of the wings. The enemy deployment is identical on the wings. Where the wings meet the centre of the body, there is a central area with one group of troops. At the tips of the top of the wings, there is one enemy each, and two within the head region. On each wing, you'll see two clusters of troops, followed by the central cluster, one more wave, and the gen at the end. Defeating the first three on any side will set off the fire traps on that wing, corresponding to the position of the defeated troops on that wing. Same goes for the central cluster. These are seen in the pictures and last about 3-4 rounds, I think. Beating any gen to less than 50% of his HP will cause the walls separating the gens to turn into movement tiles and you can now attack across. Beware the ambush.

I personally prefer direct approach, namely, a central route through the fire.
