True, maxing out the little Ashigaru and Odzutsu cannon is so irrelevant in every other game mode that ppl might forget, these things actually help a lot in conquest. Interesting takes to reduce the troop lvl or starting resources on enemy AI, I might try it out.

Yari/Yumi important in defence for small clans and monks seem to be most common special unit in conquest. I have spent all my rewards from Oda run to upgrade those instead of mounted teppo, akezonae inf/cav. And Yes Odzutsu as well, a single DoP/mortar is not enough at all.

I finished Conquest on 60 pts few times.
few hints, I do not risk my gens, so speed plus health rations work. Knowledge is power, also taking heroes from the Bars. Somewhere around turn 40-50 when I feel that comp woult take charge I pay great tribute to keep my strongest oponent as ally, then every few turns mo money for him.
This is giving faster Conquer in hardest mode for me.
Be very careful for singles walking around, somehow they can take city in one turn. then in few seconds it is rebuilded.
But what is most important, Great bag of treasures awaits.

I finished all 3 Star Conquest at 60pts, the fastest way was to just conquer all, so i pick Troop lvl. 1 point and Enemy dmg dealt 2 Points.
now i try may first 1 Star Nation and i pick diplomaty but i'm not happy with it because i need to spent to mutch Knowlegde, with is key at the start.
those callange Conquest are more fun to play than EW7 in my opinion.

This is what I've been experimenting with lately with a fair amount of success:
Strategy: Completely eliminate initial diplomatic value penalty. That costs you six points, leaving you two points to allocate as you like. For a small clan without immediate access to special units, it probably makes sense to reduce tavern costs. This does mean that you have to accept maximum erosion.
Reasoning: reducing erosion sounds good only in theory. It means you have to accept a significant initial penalty. Existing agreements get broken immediately, and due to poor relations and low prestige you almost immediately get hit by tribute demands you can't afford to pay, and that makes erosion irrelevant. If you're unfortunate enough to start close to Ashikaga, then after your relations with them deteriorate, literally everyone goes to war. If you can avoid angering Ashikaga, you may eventually be able to do some diplomacy, but only by the time you're snowballing anyway.
With my strategy, the erosion penalty does eventually wipe out everything you gain, but it takes time (Oichi can help). It only buys you a few turns, but they happen to be the most important turns of the campaign. First, they let you get your economy built up and start taking out one or two of your neighbors before everyone goes after you. Second, by the time you do start getting tribute demands, you're probably able to afford to pay off one or two significant clans (Ashikaga/Oda) for a while. And third, it gives time for other events to develop and wars to break out. Taking on a lot of countries is easier if they're also fighting among themselves or on other fronts (you don't need to like me if I can a) force you to love me or b) give you someone else to hate).
Does it work? After trying it out on some 3-stars, I easily cleared K. Hatakeyama (though I suspect that one is pretty easy in any case), and this also proved to be the strategy that cracked Isshiki for me after a couple of failed attempts with other strategies. So I'm not sure it's optimal (there may be a balance between starting penalty and erosion), but it's definitely viable, and I think a pretty strong option for smaller clans.

I havent done nearly as many challenge runs as most of you, and only now starting to get around to it. But you described one of the setups i prefer.
While for Owari map i actually prefer to wipe the tavern recruitment cost completly, and put the rest into less initial diplomacy -40, since the map is smaller, jumpstarting my spawned gens feels more powerful and we get a few safe turns anyway.
Meanwhile Armed unification is so huge and feels more agressive and risky i would go with the safe focus on -0 initial diplomacy and the rest into tavern exactly as you described.

I usually goes for a total war so I reduce the damage and troop levels. Tavern cost is not relevant to me because 90% of the time when I opened the tavern interface, the game crashed. I have to play without using tavern.

I actually don't use taverns but for a different reason In challenge conquests we can recruit better units for most of our generals than we actually have in our HQ. Elite Samurais and Horse Archers are almost everywhere and their prices are cheap. So, after deploying my first 2/3 generals I don't use taverns anymore. It is a pity though that you have a crush because we can deploy our first general for free. In future conquests, I believe, the value of the tavern will diminish even further, if I had an access to Destroyer of Provinces or Mounted Teppo I wouldn't use it at all except for that one free general.

Agree. I can get by without the tavern. The only reason I feel like using it is, like you mentioned, DoP and probably mounted teppo. One interesting thing I find with my situation is the fact that the order of my general deployment varies, depending on which special units I can recruit. This, in a way, can be fun and adds another factor to consider when choosing a clan to play. The game crashes while using tavern is not that bad of a problem. The worst time for the game to crash is right at the victory screen. Not getting any rewards, and the save is gone. All time and effort went to waste. It happened to me twice already.

I noticed that some of their recent games are very demanding to the memory available on a device. I try to have at least 6GB free and reboot my device more frequently than I usually did.

Hello, I need help to finish the conquest challenge. Play as Nagano (Nagao's little brother) max out everything in conquest except for diplomacy (it's at -5). Currently I am allied with the entire map (those that remain) but victory does not occur and I do not know why. They are not at war with each other, but they are not all allies either. It only occurs to me that since Iga Ninja defeated Shogun Ashikaga, I must defeat the Iga to win, or is it a game bug? The remaining clans are: Nagao, Hatakeyama, Ishikki, Tsu Tsui and Iga Ninja. Any ideas?

I didn't know that prestige level affects victory. At that time we were all Zenith except Nagao. In the end the war began with Iga and Tsu Tsui, and by the time it was over there was still no victory, so Hatakeyama was my next objective. With all that territory, it did not equal the prestige of Nagao, so it ended in a total conquest. The S rank was achieved, but I left it on automatic towards the end, it loses a bit of fun for me if in the end everything must be conquered no matter what. Thanks for the help!
