I think he might have gone under the radar, but I want to reintroduce him to those that might be contemplating a purchase. To utilize his second unique ability Abrams needs to be quick, luckily he comes with 4/5* in Mobility. With a tier 3 mobility tank ribbon his range of motion becomes very high.
Where does he shine?
Definitely in the new challenge conquest. His unique abilities make him one of the best generals on the european plains. Regardless what side of the conflict we choose to support, this new mode offers up some of the most dangerous generals in the entire game. Kluge, Leeb, Manstein, Zhukov or even Eichelberger can deal incredible damage to our generals. Abrams is equipped perfectly to deal with these threats. Thanks to his high mobility he can stay out of range of a Kluge or Leeb, move into position (adjacent to targeted general) and use surrounding enemy units to lower morale of the targeted threat. When being moved before attacking his damage scales up, this allows him to one shot weaker tanks, and all non-elite artillery/infantry units. This also makes a green tank ribbon mandatory on him as he can easily keep his health up via all the kills he racks up. When transitioning him to a city capturing role he keeps his value high due to the incredible mobility, Abrams is always in the action and never lacking behind.
Where does he have his weaknesses?
Simply put, defense. To compensate for a lack of plain/inspiration he needs to move, thus he can't just be parked in a city for defensive purposes. When swarmed by opponents his mobility becomes constricted and his damage falters. This becomes evident in events such as Mannerheim line. Additionally when he has to go head to head with opposing generals without other exploitable enemies around then his health can quickly decrease. For pure defensive purposes Wittmann is prefferable, as he isn't depended on movement or terrain and can retreat to a city if need be.
Final Evaluation:
Top tier offensive tank. Only behind Manstein (on an elite tank). On par with a maxed Guderian, although Guderian is more versatile. Better then Wittmann. Easliy clears all other F2P Tanks.
