After making Carriers relevant in the recent Update, I pose the question which one is better? I have neither but have used Akagi in the Pacific Event and Enterprise in 1939 conquest. Obviously these aren't perfect comparisons but I still think the Akagi is far superior. 2-3 attacks per round plus an AOE ability is amazing for pure damage at sea. In comparison the Enterprise functions as a limited use airport + normal usage as a more powerful carrier. I see potential with Nukes and paratroopers here but the usage seems limited. Also each attack costs extra resources on the Enterprise while the Akagi is a one time investment. If I could choose one it would definitely be the Akagi. The Enterprise needs a buff to be equal.
Follow up question. What general has the highest potential as a carrier general? IAP and F2P.

For speedruns it it probably Eisenhower since it effectively extends your ability to paratroop. This could be very useful for future challenge conquests.
But for everyday play the Akagi is better for aforementioned reasons. It still isn’t terribly useful, though. Doing damage to ships, unless it is a requirement for a mission, is kinda useless. Navy units don’t do a lot of damage and have massive health, so in terms of conquests the enemy navy is mostly irrelevant (except for hiding in ports, which is just annoying).

Against cities with heavy air defenses, a single strategic stealth bomber can do more than 3 attacks from Akagi. On the other hand, a tightly packed cluster of submarines and destroyers can be easily wiped by Akagi's skill. Imo they both have their niches and if I could only get one, it would probably be Enterprise for its tactical flexibility.
And for the extra question: anyone with decent movement, 6 air stars, AF leader and carpet bombing. Naval skills are icing on top but not really necessary.

Agree with the analysis, but home many times will we be able to use each? I think the Akagi will be used a lot more. In the Pacific War I also used it to soften up Artillery for my Tanks and it provided invaluable support.

Unlocking them will take several weeks if only obtained from random pulls during events.

To be honest, at low level Akagi is miles worse than Enterprise since the latter can also attack twice or even thrice (2 bombers + 1 fighter) per turn and the Maritime Airport skill kinda makes up for Enterprise’s disadvantage in lower base attack than Akagi. As for carrier gens, I prefer Spaatz (IAP) and Chennault (non-IAP).
