Does anyone know the best way to farm Meteoric iron? Even with the battlepass and clearing out all the expeditions when i try to max out my generals armours and weapons i end up chewing through it like crazy. at this rate it'll take forever to max out all of my generals equipment

It's not relevant, but one should try not to spam them to upgrade every piece of armour. Plus, I don't remember seeing them in the coin shop or the dismantled green materials.

Meteoric iron is not gained from smelting items sadly. I don't believe I've seen it in the coin shop either, although I could be wrong. Which means you get meteoric iron solely through grinding expedition stages and running challenge conquests (for example, Nagao in Battles in Owari with a challenge score of 60 gives 30 meteoric iron)
Meteoric iron also can appear in the ban-kin shop, 1 for 15 ban-kin which has a unit price 5 ban-kin cheaper than the 10 meteoric iron for 200 ban-kin package that's always around in the IAP store. You can also exchange 250 broken blades for 20 meteoric iron, but please don't do that.
There's also some IAP bundles that contain meteoric iron but just like I said for the hime items, that's a waste of your real money. It's better to buy battlepass or one of the IAP generals if you plan on spending money on this game. Get Naotora or Yukimura instead, although from those two I'd recommend Yukimura since he also gives ban-kin from sweep and is a very good general in his own right.
But yeah, I would compare every item you have and start making priorities for which to upgrade. Choose the ones you think you'll like having upgraded the most.
