Which would be better? I'm currently in wto 3 and nato 3. There are Guderian, Rommel, Bastico, Arnim, Pavlov, Messe, Konev, Leeb, Horton as generals.

Option 3: Ignore both and go for the challenge conquest, Darlan is not that difficult to get and is free. If you still want more navy generals you could do nimitz with his discount. Horton, nimitz and darlan should bring enough navalpower to get you through most if not all of the game. The one exception maybe being the hard-mode pacific event.

Neither. Get Darlan from challenge conquest first. He and Horton will be enough for a good period of time. When you need a third admiral, get Yamaguchi.

So, with which countries and with which strategy should I complete the conquest challenge? I am absolutely sure you can do it with your team. I don't know much about about other 3* nations, but Japan is very easy to manage. First of all, you have 5 heavy tanks for your Guderian, Rommel, Pavlov and Arnim, so you can deploy all of them immidietly. I played Japan twice. During the first one my aim was to conquer the whole map. Then I played it for achievement (to complete it under 40 turns). Both times I used the same strategy. Don't attack USA directly. Form up 3 teams: 1. Your best land units should conquer China as fast as possible. 2. Don't bother to take minor American Islands at the start. Send your fleet to help your army to defeat China, then send them to eliminate opponents in Southeastern Asia and Australia. 3. Your third army supported by some Navy should invade Alaska. (You can also send some units to capture minor Soviet cities in Siberia). When you have defeated Allies declare war on your former "friends" eliminating them one after another. Use Strategic bombers and Rockets and then Paratroopers. Start with the weakest: Finland, Romania and neutral states. Don't declare war on more than one nation at a time. Leave the Germans for the desert. It may look tough but hardly Germans can oppose you anywhere other than in Europe. So, clear them up on every other continent first and then in mainland Europe. Don't be involved in fighting with elite enemy units more than necessary. Either use Rumor to disable them or just leave them behind. They are harmless and prioritize to attack unimportant cities. Just make sure you hire one Infantry unit every turn to make them busy.

Then you can choose the weakest nation Hungary. You are in a safe position, so you don't have to fight for survival. Just exploit the opportunities and take everything that was carelessly left by others unguarded (steal from both your allies and enemies alike ). Your main goal is to make allies out of every neutral nation. So, improve your economy and make donations. Your troops (mostly fast moving Infantry) just follow the steps of "big guys" and collect their Rascal prey And then finally Romania. Use the same strategy as with Hungary, but now your goal is to complete it under 60 turns, so a more active play than with Hungary is needed. These 3 or 4 conquests should be enough to unlock Darlan. Just to illustrate how little is needed to play it.

Thanks, stoic.Japan is very easy! Yes, just make sure that your units fight together in groups and always support each other. Try to keep your medics (you have 3 of the them the start and can hire one more) behind the lines, since AI is programmed to attack them first.

Aside from the mandated 8 nations in Axis and Allies sides, i used another 7. . Netherlands, India, China, Canada, Mongolia, Australia and Romania. I Focused on allies since Pacific islands start off in Ally control and having to capture them is slow and tedious. Romania was the only good Axis option being two star for a decent start. The 15 total allowed me to get Chennault as a reward.

It would be a waste to use him as air with naval assault.
