Vatutin is not that good (compared to other options) I would replace him with Rommel. It shouldn't be that hard to get darlan from the conquest fight, after Rommel I would say darlan (from my conquest fight) then bastico. If you need infantry, which you will definitely need for invasions, Higuchi is an affordable choice happens. Then I would say upgrade further.

Or if you don't have that many medals, I would buy the rommeli directly without selling the vatuni and skip the bastico. Also, finish the starting ticket, there is pavlov (the good guy) and resources there. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you, I guess I'll get pavlov asap.
Are guderian vatutin and pavlov enough for Rommel mission? (I have full tank tech upgrades, lacking just nuclear resistance)

Thank you, I guess I'll get pavlov asap. Are guderian vatutin and pavlov enough for Rommel mission? (I have full tank tech upgrades, lacking just nuclear resistance)Actually yes, it is enough, especially if you have full tank technology. But Leebi can be effective with 3 tank stars and rumors instead of Pavlov. However, you know, by the way, I recommend you to upload to the cloud before doing the Rommel mission. I also think you have a medic unit. Also by Stoic There is a guide made. Actually this guide is also a bit outdated because it was written before Combat medics were released and given to players as a gift after reaching lvl 20 of HQ. Now you can exploit it to your advantage. 20% discount is pretty simple. Obviously you shouldn't attack the forts. Take a narrow path on the right and use your Guderian as a spearhead of your army healing him constantly. Rommel usually takes the western city and stops there. You have to take the eastern city. Then don't rush to attack the last target in the center. At first eliminate Artillery units guarding the tank general. Again, don't forget to heal your Generals especially Pavlov and Guderian. When units around the target are destroyed make a final assault. 40%. I don't recommend to go straight to Alexander. On the contrary attack together with Rommel a key target without a general. But don't let Rommel take it. You have to capture it yourself. You will get money and it is possible to hire a super Artillery or a 3 stacked Rocket launcher for your Konev. Try to heal Rommel as well, because he will help you to attack Montgomery. Montgomery is the toughest opponent in this mission, so probably Rommel and a couple of your heavy tanks will be dead. Nevermind, if your Konev, Guderian and Pavlov are alive and close to full health it should be enough for the final attack. Make note that you can soften Alexander up with several Air attacks. But do this only after the wall is destroyed.

I did the rommel mission just with Guderian Vatutin Leeb and Konev
The tip with hiring a super artilery and putting konev on it helped a lot.
Now tech tree wise, what should I go for since i've finished tanks. I'm indecisive between plane/navy/artillery upgrades

Continue main paths. Get the free Generals and discounted ones. Like Dowding with Tech and Chennault with Industry, but later as you progress. Do tech upgrades, wonders, etc as you improve one main general in each class. Everything will gradually fall into place, tweaking them as needed. Return to forum often for ideas and tips.

On which generals should I max out rumour? I am thinking about Guderian Rommel and Konev first
Also should i get dowding and max out his economy skills?

For scenarios, Konev and Leeb. For me, Guderian is my main attacker so he should have an atk-boosting skill (I picked Crossfire and something else). I used Rommel and Rokossovsky (3rd tank) as Rumour tank gens. You shouldn't need Dowding for Scenario.

Quite likely we can deploy only 6 generals in future Modern War challenge campaigns. Out of 6 there are one or two Admirals (in some campaigns at least), so we have space for 5 or 4 most of the time. Truth be told, I don't see any place for Leeb. Instead of Leeb (and Dowding) I would advise to use Arnold. He can place Rumor debuff and at the end of missions bombard Terrorists with Air strikes and Rockets. Usually you have enough resources to use his skills successfully.

I don’t get how the trend leads to this.

But I haven't played Cold war campaigns yet.
