Everything but Jaegers, IMO. The anti-tank bonus is important, but at times, you need to clear enemy inf and arty.
You need to see what's in front of your gen first.
Are you mainly attacking tanks? If yes, equip one with an anti-tank bonus.
Does the enemy frequently drop air bombs?
If yes, equip one with an anti-air bonus.
If both, you know the German anti-tank and anti-air unit is the choice.

Even jaegers have their place (most obviously, when you want to parachute somewhere, but IIRC they also have a mobility bonus that's situationally useful). In fact, this question shows a serious misunderstanding about special units. You can ask which special unit is the best in category - e.g. Jaeger is better than ARR Airborne (no love for România 😔), but that's already been discussed in these threads. But your general works equally well with all types, what you use is determined by what you need tactically at the moment. |
