Well....good arty is definitely in Short supply so....since my Art. Commanders include Zhang and Bradley...looks like I'll retire Bradley, and enlist Brooke.

While sailing through Pacific campaigns I noticed this skill. There is definitely a room for improvement of Artillery as a class in general. Or, at least, of some representatives of this class...

BAPTISM by FIRE.... Bought Brooke. Spent approx. 8k medals on him and popped his cherry in El Alamein, hard with inspiration and the other arty skill, acc. Or leader...with...the Excellence medal...on a Stuka fuss, low level. He was killed around round 20 by Monty on maxed Centurion* tank (*correction) but he got 185 kills and 688 damage. He is definitely one of the top f2p Arty gens in play atm. El Alamein is a nightmare 🤣.

Does "Inferior Victory" work on Air Carrier ? I think only when counterattack the skill would work, since all form of Air Force except the hind doesn’t count as troop.

Thanks for confirmation, I saw a thread on FB that they suggest giving Yamamoto (on Air-Carrrier) Inferior Victory and Fleet Leader.

IMO the only logical reason to give Yamamoto Inferior Victory is to allow him commands hind and artillery without sacrificing too much of his counterattack ability on carrier.

Brooke is in a good position. For his fifth skill, there are options like Rumour and Explosives, or one of the terrain skills, or Inspiration.
My main picks are the first two. 1. Explosives: He's going to hit hard on super arty or EF unit, so we should build on his high atk using the multiplier.
2. Rumour: Since he hits hard, he can be used to suppress enemy troops and act as a main attacker. At the same time, plunge enemy troop morale and allow others like tanks and inf to follow up.
3. Terrain: A mix of both, with emphasis on increasing output against all. I am biased against them, however.
For me, I already have Rumour on my 3 arty gens, as well as 3 tanks - Rommel, Rokossovsky, and Messe - on top of most admirals: Nimitz, Doenitz, Horton, and Kuznetsov. Having 11 out of 18-21 gens seems excessive unless I swapped some skills.

I just finished El Alamein Hard and checked rewards then, out of curiosity, the Generals Files. Big surprise for me .... Manstein and Guderian dropped 3 spots, in spite of being deployed on elites. Tobulkin moved past them with 848, Yeryomenko with 865, and the shocker was...Brooke! He took 1st spot, with 1335, ousting Simo with 1334....and all while deployed on only the game spawned super arty! ...(Konev was on the maxed Stuka zu Fuss, with the Excellence medal). I dont know how he got 1st ranking in damage but, that I.V. skill must've played a part. This reminds me, that I should not have been too surprised...because Konev is "ruined" by that Raider skill for infantry and could have been better were it not for this....much as Yamaguchi's Naval Assault skill conflicts with Air Leader skill and he too could have not been nerfed by a conflicting skill.

Is Brooke better than Konev? See former post and you might agree he is.

Just remind you that Tolbukhin can chain one tank next to him to join his attack on a target which the total damage from both tanks would count as Tolbukhin’s, so he besting Manstein and Guderian is normal. In fact, Marshall having similar skill can pull off even higher damage, while Richelieu’s Coordinated Strike skill allows it to boost the damage score of whoever it assisted, I managed to boost Graziani’s historical peak damage to 865 on King Tiger with help from Eisenhower Richelieu, Sokolovsky and Masse, and the top 7 of my generals have peak damage exceeding 1000 (Manstein being the lowest slightly behind Tolbukhin).

Hmmm🤔 nice!....but Brooke made that 1335 damage during Battle of El Alamein Hard on a starter super artillery, holding the line south of the oasis. No Richilieu on scene and Tobulkhin, whom I have, affect only armor.
I can explain, Wainright breaking 500, Horton's 850, etc,...🤔. (I even had a do over of El Alamein, normal though, to see if i could recreate it)
Im stumped.lol....im pretty sure he didnt make it before....but maybe im missing something. Thanks for the reminder .

Thanks for the reminder . Well, Brooke has Retaliation that can add up to 30 attack for 2 turns if enemies killed one of your unit next to him, then skills like Plain Fighting and Inspiration also increase damage, while skill medals, Artillery Legend medal and lvl 5 red ribbon further boost the damage score. Moverover, Brooke at the time might had been buffed by Milanovsky’s Decoy and Strike and/or Crowd Tactics from nearby general(s) and the target might took more damage if it bore a marker from Sokolovsky. My Konev doesn’t have like 1/3 of the fore-mentioned skills and buffs yet his peak historical damage reached 1628.
