Hello, I am playing WC3, but I wanted to try WC4. Firstly, some observations. The interface is a little bit compicated, the distances are for sure bigger and as I can see it's a little bit easier to get a decent general in the start. Right now I am on level 10, I unlocked Rommel (not buy him just unlock the first level in Berlin) and I bought Auchinleck. I think it's okay general (what do you think?). I finished the 4 first axis campaigns and the six of the allies and I bought some infantry and panzer units to pass some missions. Any advice about what to do next. Appreciate it all!

First if all, I personally think that WC4 is a better game than WC3. I hope WC3 fans won't throw stones because of that Buying Auchinleck is obviously a bad decision but the same mistake was made by no other than one of the legends of this forum namely best75, so you are in a good company. No worries, though. You can use him for a while and then sell him for 80% of the original price. Now you basically have two good choices. 1. Using Auchinleck and new free generals to go straight for Guderian. You will unlock Pavlov meantime, so your team will be good enough to complete the first chapter with flying colors. 2. I personally prefer another route, though. Namely to buy a good but rather cheap tank general. Bastico, for example, and then immidietly to unlock 40% discount and to purchase Konev. And then to go for Rommel with 40% discount. I described my reasons here if you are interested european-war-4.boards.net/thread/19372/budget-teamIn this case you will purchase Guderian later in the game, somewhere close to cold war.

Thank you very much for your answer. And in some way, after some gameplay, I think that it's indeed a better game from WC3!

My first was Messe, but with him i got all the discount Generals, Guderian, Konev, Leeb, etc. Ive been playing this game almost 6 years, and ...i still find it exciting, especially with the new updates.
You will find plenty threads with information and Lots of people willing to share insight and experience. Enjoy...and welcome.

Only when you upgrade them and unlock new technologies you'll feel the difference.

Only when you upgrade them and unlock new technologies you'll feel the difference. Probably. But ok, I think I'll earn enough money for a gold general…
