Yeah so here's a level that's kinda nasty and sort of confusing. It's not insanely difficult or anything, but I'd wager a lot of people won't really know what you're supposed to do here. The fighting IS quite a bit rougher than usual so preparing well will make things smoother.
Useful stuff to bring into the level:
- Some levels on Akazonae Infantry, Akazonae Heavy Cavalry and Elite Cavalry.
- Good gear on Obu Toramasa and Yamamoto Kansuke. Healing items and horses that ignore interrupt are particularily helpful here.
- Swordmaster on Kansuke, Your highest leveled special cavalry unit on Toramasa.
I'll just note that a lot of the stuff you want to bring into this level helps for a lot of the Famous Clan campaign anyway, so you probably want to do a lot of it in one go if you feel like item switching is otherwise really tedious.
The level:
So here's how it goes: All the cavalry units charges at your position and you have to survive. The Uesugi forces will move in from below to cut off your retreat. You want to fight in the southwest corner so you don't get surrounded and demoralized, that's kinda a huge threat here actually. It helps if you can force them to attack your akazonae infantrymen from a non-plain tile so they don't charge you. The generals and their guards will stay put for the moment but will charge at you later.
You have absolutely no chance with just these guys (unless you stuff everyone with food). And starting from turn 3 there'll be ranged reinforcements who also charges at your position.
That circle is the key to victory.
The game isn't really obvious about it imo, partly due to ET's vague dialogue (not really broken english), partly because it takes some turns before anything happens, and also partly because the intuitive idea is to just stand on it. What ET wants you to do here is to make sure that that space isn't occupied by either your or the enemy units.
Obu Toramasa and a random green elite cav joins the fight! Turn 5 is the earliest he can spawn in if that tile is left open. The swamp to the right of him will get another circle after he joins in.
Yamamoto Kansuke joins the fight! He spawns in turn 10.
Takeda Shingen joins the fight! On turn 13. His arrival basically means you win. You also get a couple archers and two lv20 akazonae heavy cavs with 2000 HP.
And this happens:
So now you just clean up the mess. Victory!
